This salad is delicious. My family asked for it several days in a row. I didn't use as much oil as called for - just kind of taste tested the dressing - still yummy.

I used the pomegranate molasses recipe from Alton Brown, which was very easy to do and didn't take too long.

I made this salad for my annual Christmas luncheon for the girls I used to work with. Each year I try to find something new to give them and this salad was a hit big time. I had to make the pomegranate molasses because my grocery store did not carry it but it was well worth it. I am not a blue cheese fan so I purchased the Danish mild and it was good. I mixed up the apples using granny smith, honey crisp and royal gala. I was also presently surprised at how tasty the roasted walnuts were.
    Bobby Flay you rock!.

If Pomegranite Molasses wasn't so hard to find I would of given this vinaigrette recipe 5 star. It was really tasty, but I had to make my own pomegranite juice in order to make pomegranite molasses. I'm not sure this vinaigrette is worth all the work, but it is good.
If I ever find the molasse in the store then I'll for sure make this recipe again, otherwise I don't think I will.

This fabulous salad hits all the traditional notes for the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah: apples, honey, pomegranates, candied nuts, spinach - with a more sophisticated taste. I used a mix of fresh-picked apples, made the pomegranate molasses according to Alton's amazing recipe, used honey-glazed pecans I found in the grocery store, but omitted the blue cheese. A very tasty first course for a holiday dinner!

This is a fantastic recipe! I made the recipe for Alton Brown's pomegranate molasses (note- a reviewer states there is a mistake in the recipe- sugar should be 2 1/2 cup of sugar vs. 1/2. This is better than most restaurants which lack flavor and acidity.

I was searching for a fuji apple salad because I love the one I have at a neighborhood restaurant we frequent. This one sounded pretty similar, so I made it for a baby shower brunch. It was delicious! Just as good as the restaurant one I love. I bought all the ingredients at Trader Joe's. I didn't use any endive and I added mixed baby greens. I also used Trader Joe's candied walnuts instead of toasted walnuts since the salad that I like at the restaurant uses candied ones. Trader Joe's candied walnuts are only slightly sweet, so they work well. I was able to find the pomegranate molasses at a grocery store near my house that has a very big selection. I used Trader Joe's cumbled blue cheese, which is pretty strong- I don't know if the ones recommended in this recipe are this strong, but I have a feeling they are not. I didn't use as much as the recipe recommended. I probably wasn't very good about using the same proportions as Bobby since I had to make a large amount and just played it by ear. LOVE the dressing (also didn't use as much oil as it said. Will definitely make this again!!

I only used a half cup of oil...I think 3/4 cup would have been way too much. My parents and boyfriend loved this salad. I used shredded sharp cheddar cheese on my salad because I don't like bleu cheese, it worked perfect.

I also just used Pom Pomegranite juice instead of pomegranite molasses

This is such a delicious salad and so full of antioxidants and nutrients too! And the variations are endless. I've tried it with dried cranberries, grilled pears, pecans and pine nuts, feta cheese and goat cheese. Everyone loves this recipe.

Pomegranate molasses can be found in Middle Eastern markets or if you don't have one there are plenty of online sources. It is quite inexpensive too. I keep it on hand for all sorts of things. It makes a great glaze for poultry or try it with some chipotle for a pork tenderloin glaze. mmmmm!!

I made this last year for the first time for our New Year's eve party! It was a big hit. Especially since it is a healthy addition to our night of appetizers. I used 1/4 cup of regular molasses and 1/4 pomegranate juice for the pomegranate molasses and that worked great for me. I leave the dressing and the blue chesse on the side for my guests to add as they would like.

Couldn't find pomagranite molasses but had some Smuckers tripple berry ice cream topping. Used this in place and tasted wonderful. Loved all the flavors and the crunchy textures. Will definitely make again. Lots of good nutrition in this salad as well!! Rene
