I had a hard time finding arbol chili powder so I found the dried peppers and ran them through the coffee grinder. The little coffee taste even made the rub more spectacular. The BBQ sauce was superb!!!! This recipe goes in the best of the best file.

My Husband and I loved this recipe! I served with Paula Deans Cool Cucumber salad, and Emeril Lagasse's Hurricane cocktails, what a combo! Since it was just my hubby and I we had extra sauce and rub, which I plan on using with chicken tonight. Like another reviewer, I could not find the different types of chile powder, so I used Chipotle chile powder, and it worked just fine. This made a great dinner, we set up the tiki torches and table and chairs outside and had our own backyard nighttime BBQ.. Thanks!

Last night, we had friends over and sampled 5 different style burgers. This burger was a hit with everyone! The slaw was great, but you only need about 1/2-2/3 a head of cabbage and still need to increase the spices - flavor to taste and it will be really good. One key to this burger is the great BBQ sauce. Again, the recipe makes a lot more than a cup of sauce, but that is great for using again or for other things. We loved everything about this burger. Also, brush the buns with some butter and toast on the grill grates for even more flavor! Enjoy!

I saw the picture of this burger in the Food Network magazine and had to have it. Now listen, I'm not a "burger gal". Burgers are burgers. Right? But whoa, something about the picture and ingredient list really stuck in my head. made it tonight and it was AWESOME. I love how the BBQ sauce and pickles and slaw and ground chuck all work together to make a really good and balanced burger. When I first tasted the BBQ sauce I was a little worried that it would completely take the burger over, but oh no, it did not. Definitely give it a try!

Burger was great- even my relatively picky burger purist 8 and 9 year old loved it. I had to change a few things because some of the seasonings are not readily available in my local grocery store--- but still fabulous!
