I took the advice of some of the reviews and soaked the chicken in a brine before the buttermilk. This recipe is a bit time consuming but soooooo worth it!!! My entire family LOVED the chicken. Definitely lower the temp to around 325. This recipe is a keeper!

This chicken got rave reviews from my husband, a devoted grocery-store-deli chicken fan. He even went so far as to say it was BETTER! High praise, indeed. Having never made fried chicken before, I was nervous - under-cooking! over-browning! under-spicing! - but it all went well following the recipe directions. I don't have a fry thermometer, so I can't say what temperature I was frying at, but it worked beautifully. As for spices, I opted for the hot sauce and cayenne mix instead of the chile powder. Thank you, Bobby Flay, for giving me one more weapon for my arsenal against my husband's hunger!

I tried this recipe and was afraid it would be too spicy for my family. It was the crispiest, most flavorful chicken my family has ever had. Thank you for sharing the recipe, Bobby.

Yes, this was the first time I've fried chicken, and this recipe was so, so good! I used boneless, skinless breasts and marinated them for about 2 hours and it turned out wonderfully. I will definitely make this again!

I made this for my family and they loved it! 375 degrees is definitely too hot, though. I burned the first two pieces, but after I turned the heat down it came out great. Will definitely make this again.

This was my first attempt at frying chicken and it turned out great. I took the advice of someone who commented and soaked the chicken a brine overnight before following the recipe almost exactly. I didn't have cayenne, onion powder or hot sauce, so I used Lawry's season salt instead and a lot more groud black pepper. The skin was amazingly crispy and the meat was juicy and delicious. I think I will add the other dry seasonings Bobby suggests because I thought mine could have had a pinch more flavor, but it still exceeded my expecations. Great recipe!!!

My 10 daughter wanted to make fried chicken b/c she saw the show with this fried chicken, well, let me tell you, the best I've ever had. My husband said he's had fried chicken from a lot of different places and he will never eat any but our daughter's again. I stopped the cooking at 15 minutes and was very glad I did or it would have been overdone.

This recipe made the best chicken that I ever had! It was very flavorful and jucy! I used my deep fryer at 325 degrees and the chicken turned out perfect. This is my new go to recipe for chicken!

I thought that it was a good recipe, but if you put the chicken in a brine(water and 3 tablespoons of salt for 7 hours before hand it is much more juicy and it adds huge amounts of flavor. Very enjoyable for the whole family!
