I followed this recipe exactly. I liked the taste, however the texture was a bit thick/gel-ish. The ginger simple syrup was awesome, that's why I gave it 4 stars. I used the syrup later in a mixed berry daquiri, and it rocked! I think I would skip the peeling/dicing of the mangos and purchase a mango nectar, and then follow the recipe, I think it would make it a bit lighter. All in all, tasty!

This is an amzing and creative drink, well worth the effort.
I see where another poster feels "insulted" because this uses vodka instead of tequila...ROTFL! remember, creativity is the hallmark of a great chef...AND bartender!

It takes a little effort to make, but it is definitely worth the effort! (Effort=harder than mixing together rum and coke. This is one of the best drinks I have EVER had!
