This is my first try at making this sort of thing. I saw him make them on TV. I read the reviews first which almost stopped me from trying the recipe but it's really not rocket science. All ingredients get blended together in the end and there you have it. There does appear to be a bit of a typo in the instructions when it's meantioned 2 times to add the remaining ingredients but if you reason it out for a moment in your head it all goes together the same way. Just throw it all together and don't worry about it. The watermelon ice cubes worked great. I only let the chill in the freezer for 4 hours so they were just frozen enough but no so much that I needed the blender again. I just whipped it all together in a bowel with a spoon and they were ready to enjoy. I am not a big fan on super sticky sweet mixed drinks and found this to be very good. I will be making this many times over. Also, as per other posters comments I cut the alcohol by about 1/3. Next time I will make them full strength as I thought it could have used the extra as the recipe specifically calls for.

Gee, some people sure can not read.

First paragraph directions for frozen cubes.

Frozen cubes then mixed with "other ingredients"!

    Really great and different twist.

This is perfect for a weekend evening pool party. I had four different kinds of margaritas, and this was everyone's favorite. Regarding two other reviewers here, what is so complicated about following a recipe? Ingredient #1 is chopped watermelon. The "remaining" ingredients are what is *not* chopped watermelon. Some people just aren't the brightest bulbs.

I had delicious Margaritas in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, last summer, and this Bobby's Watermelon Margaritas version is almost as good those in Mexico.

My friends raved about this drink! Very refreshing and not overly sweet.
I also reduced the tequila by about fifty percent. Still tastes great without knocking you out with alcohol.

The recipe is very confusing - what remaining ingredients? You use it up on the first 2 cups of ice cubes. I will do it taking half of whatever amount of ice cubes I make out of the 5 cups of watermelon pureed. Then I will use half of the simple sugar recipe ( I will first make it by using the recipe amounts as stated And then I will use half of everything else. I've been making watermelon diaquiries for over 30 years and I just freeze chunks of seedless watermelon, so I'll probably just freeze 5 cups of watermelon divided into 2 freezer bags and use 1 bag for each half of the original recipe. I think this way will be less time consumming. Give this a try and see how you like it.

First of all, this recipe is great and will surely make it again just as the recipe is printed. I was a bit confused however, because the instructions printed in the recipe were different from the way Bobby made it on the show. I was sure that he pureed the watermelon in the food processor, added the rest of the ingredients, put everything through a sieve and then poured the juice over crushed ice. Did anyone else happen to catch that, or am I crazy?

Way to go Bobby! I made this a few times this summer. I didn't use the melon liqour and it was wonderful. I'm sure it would be even better with the liqour.

very good recipe. makes good use of in-season seedless watermelon. takes a little time, but worth the trouble.
