We ate at Bobby Flay's restaurant Bar Americain and I ordered this. It was amazing. I thought I'd never be able to recreate it, but mine wasn't bad either. Everyone is always impressed. Play around with different wines, broths, and seafood and it's different every time.

Fantastic! LIke everyone else stated, had to use the fish I could get my hands on, 3 stores in Phoenix I went to didnt carry striped bass. So I had to substitue Alaskan Cod. Also my fish broke up too but I decided that was fine. Friends raved, what's not to love! Just a tip: Call your store to make sure they have everything before you go shopping. They may have to special order something in which could take a couple days. I finally ended up placing my order with the meat dept at AJ's and just went and picked it up. I will do that again next time! Thanks Bobby, it's a keeper!

I watched the show today then went right on and printed off the recipe. then i went to the store bought all the stuff and served it to my family they loved it! it was a great turn out for my first time making this dish!!! i will def. make it again.they all said it was like a fancy resturant. My fish was very soft and it broke up alittle bit but that was ok we just used the bread to mop it up! it was amazing!<3

Although no one should be surprised from Bobby Flay, but this was fantastic! I have been served cioppino, paying quite a bit for it and this was better. This recipe took some work to find enough seafood in Indiana but if you can, make this.

I've made this dish twice now, to rave reviews. My guests last night literally mopped up every last drop. Instead of the croutons, I just serve hot crusty sourdough bread for dipping & mopping.
For six, I just reduced the amount of seafood a bit. I also added a bulb of fennel (diced in with the shallots and garlic, which was a really good addition.
One of the best things I have ever tasted. I've tried other recipes for cioppino, but this is truly superior.

I just made this for my huband's Father's Day dinner and although the entire family loved it, I think I would reverse the order of adding the seafood next time. In my dish, the shrimp was a bit tough and the fish broke up excessively by the time clams opened up. Next time, I would add the clams first, followed by the shrimp, fish and cooked lobster. Even so, this recipe is fabulous and I wouldn't dream of criticizing Bobby Flay (my idol, I'm sure his fish and shrimp are done to perfection.
