The sauce was just right on spice but I added more honey to add more contrast it was a little too much vinegar for my taste.

If you like hot wings, but are not into "dare you to eat them" hot, then these wings are for you. They were hot enough to break a little sweat, but also tasted great. Easy to make, fast to cook, and great as left overs. I highly recommend.

My husband and I love hot wings, and grilling is how I've been doing them for years. I always used a store bought sauce, and I wanted to try this. I made it with 3 tablespoons of the chipotle puree because my husband and I like spicy, but was a bit concerned about the vinegar. At first the sauce seemed to have too much vinegar but once it thickened with the chili powder, it was good, but not hot. I kept adding chipotle puree until I added the whole can, and then it was just right. Yummo!! Great taste, with heat. I grilled thighs and drumsticks instead of wings, so cooked a bit longer, but great. The blue cheese/yogurt dipping sauce was phenomenal. Thanks Mr. Flay.

This sauce had wonderful flavor, although I had to tweak it a bit. It was too runny after following the recipe exactly and didn't really "stick" to the chicken. I did use 3 Tbsp of Chipotle and thought the heat was Medium. In the future, I would decrease the amount of red wine vinegar and eliminate the oil. The butter is all the "oil" that you need.

Haven't tried yet but was looking for something to try on the grill over the weekend. Spicy with blue cheese, can't beat the combination. Will let you know!

Disappointing, as the sauce looked good, but turned out way too thin and vinegary.
Not much heat either - I started out with 3 chipotles in adobo, then added 3 more. Still just blah. And I LOVE chipotles.
The dipping sauce was just ok. I'll stick with good ol' bleu cheese dressing.
I won't bother with this recipe again.
My blog has a great Sriracha wings recipe here:

Easy and quick to prepare. We did not have ancho chile, but used a chipolte dry mix from Whole Foods - was excellent! I added finely chopped jalapenos for extra kick. Used genuine ranch dressing (homemade with the blue cheese crumbles - Friends could not get enough of the wings or the dipping sauce! We are making it all again tonight! THanks Bobby!

I thought these were going to be awesome but to tell you the truth I didn't like them.
I guess I think wings just have to be fried to tast good.
