The recipe was very tasty. However, it does take a bit of time to prepare all the sauces, so I recommend doing all of that in advance and then cooking the fish when your guests arrive. Since I didn't have the pineapple recipe and everyone was starved, I improvised the Habanero sauce as follows (it was still a big hit: About a cup of fresh salsa (I use Trader Joe's mild, two or three teaspoons of Frank's Red Hot Sweet Chili Sauce, and a half cup of pineapple chopped into small chunks. I also agree with the other reviewer- you need to double the amount of fish you use in order to feed four people and even out with the amount of saucesand salsas. Overall, prep time is a little long (and prepare to have a LOT of cilantro on hand, but this dish is delish!

i found the directions on how to make the hot sauce here they are

Heat a grill to high or preheat the broiler. Place the whole pineapple (do not peel it on the grill and grill until the entire surface is completely black and charred. Remove from grill and let cool slightly. Peel the pineapple, remove the core and coarsely chop the flesh.

Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat; add the onion and cook until soft. Add the pineapple, pineapple puree, habanero and vinegar and cook until the mixture is completely soft, about 25 to 30 minutes. Transfer to a blender and blend until smooth. Season with salt, pepper and honey, to taste. Strain the mixture into a bowl.

I made this for a birthday party and it was a big hit. I am withholding the fifth star for two reasons. First, the amount of avocado salsa and habanero hot sauce is way too big compared to the amount of tacos this recipe produces. Prepare to have lots of salsas on hand after making this recipe. The other thing this recipe is lacking is directions for the pineapple habanero sauce. I used the keyword "charred" to help guide me and it turned out great - directions would still be nice though.

I am making this recipe today. So far, everything has turned out great. However, I have only the ingredient list for the Pineapple Habanero Hot Sauce and no directions. I am winging it, but would like to know the proper way to put the ingredients together. Any help will be appreciated! I'm sure this would be a 5 star if the recipe directions were complete!

Fun to make, great flavors, both the salsa and the slaw could be used in so many other recipes too! Liked that I could do all the parts ahead then my husband grilled the fish and we assembled the tacos together. I served it with blue corn tortilla chips and roasted corn. The meal was a huge hit last weekend and I'm making it again tonight!! Thanks Bobby!

This was fabulous taste. I have put off eating fish tacos for many years. The flavors were great and it was fun to make.

I really like trying new things on my Big Green Egg grill. It was really fun to grill the whole pineapple.

Thank you Bobby , my husband really liked it. I used fewer hot peppers, but woud love to make this for guests.

The avacado salsa by it self is great!!!
I used a different white fish that looked freshest, and it was yummy.
I didn't make the pineapple hot sauce- didn't have everything.- still great!
But the other ingredients are staples in my kitchen.
    Kids liked it, too.
Tia -"Yuck" - Did you grill the fish? It can be tricky to grill it till it is flaky, juicy but not rubbery and over done.

I made this recipe because of all the great reviews. I spent lot of time in the kitchen only for my family to say "this is disgusting". Usually I ignore them because they dont like to try new things, but this time I had to agree and I love ALL foods. The flavors just didnt mesh together. The citrus vinagrette had TOO many herbs it seemed to over power the dish. I feel like the dish needed some kind of cheese (maybe cotija or sour cream? Either way I wont be making this again :(

This dish was such a success, all my friends loved it! I made extra Pineapple Habanero Sauce and froze it so I could use it on other fish dishes. This is one of my favorite meals!

This is one of my favorite meals ever! It does require quite a bit of chopping but it was well worth the work. Plenty of food for 6 people although I would recommend doubling the slaw recipe. The pineapple habanero salsa was incredible and works well on leftovers or other dishes later in the week. Everyone raved! I've never received more compliments on my cooking ever. This is a must try!
