Tony, the recipe of the "other" martini you questioned I think is the Ginger martini with Sake, I didnt watch Bobby's show where he made the Saketini but I searched on martini's that he could have made using Ginger and cucumber and I found the ginger martini with sake. Hope this is it! - by the way I have not made the Saketini yet but since I have to rate this recipe before I send my answer I give it a 5.. it looks like is a 5 =

Bobby made another Sake Martini on "Grill it" on May 30, First he ground cumber and ginger in the Martini shaker then he added Vodka and Sake. Does anyone know the exact recipe? Food network does not list it.

Great recipe as cucumber is an ideal flavor with sake. Only one question, which sake was originally used? To simply say dry or extra dry leaves much variation between sake options. Sake adds extra body, flavor and dimension when mixed with spirits and that all changes by which sake is used.
Dry sake can be super crisp with tight fruit, herb and steely flavors. It can also have quite lush fruity flavors and aromas. For something clean and dry you might try Momokawa Silver or Yoshinogawa Gensen Karakuchi. Both are quite dry and crisp but the Momokawa Silver has slightly more fruit notes.

I did not have the cucumber so I made the drink with Grey Goose and used Tozai Nigori sake Voices in the mist, into a shaker with half ice and a squeeze of lemon juice and shake. In the Martini glasses i put a little lemon zest and poured the drink in. Aww, heaven

I really enjoyed the Saketini. They go down smooth and are very refreshing. I prefer Kettle One Vodka and using English Cucumber because of the small seeds and slightly sweeteer taste.
