Husband & I were looking for a simple meal to grill out with....Found this recipe for dressing up a regular hot dog...and we loved it! Like another reviewer, we were ready with the jar salsa vs making it ourselves to simplify things....but, we actually didn't use it b/c the avacado guacamole was all we needed with a bit of shredded cheese and the crushed blue corn chips on top really added a nice texture dimension. We're thinking of making them for lunch today so our 18 yo son can try them...we think he will really like them! I made Barefoot Contessa's New Potato Salad to compliment the meal...always a good bet! These dogs are a perfect summer treat to share! Enjoy!

Incredibly light and Delicious, loved the idea of having nachos in a sancwich! efficient
I had some leftover cheese sauce from a cheese fondue and I put it on the nachos in the hotdog bun and toped it with the jalapenos and it was AMAZING

I made these for my teenage son who is a very picky eater and he loved them. We are not big fans of guacamole so we just made them without it. I think the chips on top give it a nice touch. My daughter doesn't eat beef so she made it with chicken sausage. It was delicious both ways!

What a fun and great tasting hot dog! The guacamole tastes great and the chips add that perfect crunch. It does seem like a bit of extra work just for a hot dog, but well worth it in the end. Thanks again Bobby!!!

After seeing the Throwdown on the 8th of April, I could not wait to try a Nacho Dog... OMG
I just couldn't believe my taste buds! I mean WOW! We seem to have lots of quick, spontaneous get togethers and what's always on hand? Hot dogs buns and tortilla chips! If ya don't wanna make salsa use the jar kind it worked to! The quacamole, ya gotta make that from scratch! LOVE IT!!!

Different than your regular dog. Loved it! It's the best hot dog I've ever had. I think the blue chips on the top made the special touch. The added crunch was perfect. I put a lot of the blue chips on top! Enjoy!

These were fantastic. The combination of the cheese, guacamole, and salsa is wonderful. The addition of the blue tortilla chips adds a bit of a crunch. Absolutely delicious!!!

We tried these at our Memorial Day picnic along with the Texas Dogs. (It was the second time serving the Texas Dogs in one week. They're really awesome.

Anyway, we liked the taste of the dogs, but the texture was a little mushy...even with the crumbled tortilla chips. My brother liked them best of any of us.

I'd say to give them a try. Again, the taste was great, but the texture and "mouth-feel" was odd.
