    The sauerbraten was great! I followed the recipe but substituted apple cider vinegar for the white wine vinegar. Will try it with the white wine vinegar next time. Thanks Nanny Flay!

    Tried the recipe after reading the rave reviews and thought it was just so-so. My meat was flavorless, bland and very dry - thank goodness for the gravy which made it edible. For as much time as it takes to cook and as many stars as the receipe received, I expected a lot more. I won't be making this again for Sunday dinner unfortunately.

    Wunderbar! My family loves this. Can anyone give me tips on how to make this in a slow cooker? Should I reduce the amount of liquids? Thank you for any help in making this great recipe even better for a busy german gal.

    Amazing! We recently ate at Fizzz, a German Beer Garden in Escondido, CA. My husband ate Sauerbraten, so we were craving it. Found Bobby Flay's recipe on FoodNetwork.com and enjoyed every bite. Plan to spend at least 4 hrs of your time prepping and cooking, but well worth the wait. Perfect Oktoberfest meal. Can't wait for leftovers tonight! Thank you Nanny & Bobby Flay for sharing.
