I used this recipe and made 2 loaves of bread. turned out great. A simple white bread. Not real dense like everyone said. I did add an additional 1/4 cup of flour and used all bread flour though.

I am always glad to make one of Bobby's recipes. I really enjoy his show and his enthusiasm for food. The only problem is that I can't make many of his dishes since he is very big on spicy ingredients and I am not. So, when I find a non-spicy recipe from him, I am happy to try it. This one did not disappoint. The rolls were light and perfectly yummy. I make a lot of rolls for my family and this is definitely one of my favorites.

Tried many recipes looking for the "perfect" Roll. These rolls are without a doubt the best I've ever eaten. Bobby Flat-'you da man'

I combined this dough recipe with Giada De Laurentiis' Caraway & Parmesan Grissini topping ingredients and it came out great! The added parmesan cheese, caraway seed, fennel seed, salt & pepper on the top with an egg wash base gave it pleasant extra flavor.

I tried this recipe, the taste was great, but they were real heavy and dense. I mixed in the mixer w/ the hook, but it never actually formed a ball ( mixed it for a ling time , so i would take it out and knead it till it was no longer sticky. then after the second rise i formed the rolls by folding the dough under and forming a nice round top, but again very dense and heavy. anyone have any sugg. mabe I am using to much dough when forming the rolls. any advise would be great.

I halved the recipe, and the rolls were delicious. I guess I was expecting them to be very soft, because I was slightly disappointed at the tough exterior. I'll look for a roll recipe that comes out super soft, but these were great for a first try.

The first time I tried this recipe I only had rapid rise yeast so I accommodated accordingly. They rose really well, however, they tastedreally good but were heavy.

I have tried 4 more times with regualar yeast exactly according to recipe and can't seem to get them to rise. I even bought a liquid thermometer so I could make sure the water temperature was appropriate to activate the yeast.

Is there something that could be suggested that I might possibly be doing wrong to fix my problem?

I really loved the flavor and really want to be successful with this recipe!

    Help!

I used my kitchenaid mixer with the dough hook to knead the dough. I had to add almost an extra cup of flour to be able to make a dough ball, the dough was very moist and sticky with the 6 cups of flour intended. But the rolls where very good.
