This Sangria is delicious and a huge hit at the parties. I always make a double portion: just double all the alcohol but not the fruit. Also, like many others I had a hard time finding passion fruit puree. I used Ciao Bella Passion Fruit Sorbet 1/2 container for single portion and omit simple syrup and I use only 1 cup of OJ instead of 2. As for wine, use any under $10 New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Enjoy! Yum!!!

"I want a sangria recipe for my wedding and was thinking "passion fruit" sounds pretty good and white wine would be less likely to stain if it got spilled. I intend to try it with my bridesmaids. " -This was posted a couple of weeks ago.
    New:
I made this last night. I used 2-2qt pitchers and they are both full! If that gives you any idea how much this recipe makes.
Also, I had read about the passion fruit concentrate that another review used and tried to find that but couldn't. I found the PASSIONFRUIT PUREE. Look in your liquor section mixers with the daquari mixes. I found it at BevMo, after asking an useless employee who informed us when asked "oh, no, we don't have anything like that here." My fiance was impressed with my stubborness and my intuition that lead me to its discovery, lol.
Still haven't tried it yet. It has been "marrying" overnight. (I think that's appropriate. My bridesmaids are coming tonight and the sampling will begin! hehehehe

My college friend and husband came for a visit. I knew they liked sangria so I made this but also bought a red wine sangria in case this wasn't a hit. They LOVED it. I didn't try since I'm really a wine drinker. I drank a bubble gum vodka and fruit punch - tastes just like a charms blow pop, but I digress! :

Like the other posters wrote, you definitely need a large container to make this. I made in a pot that I make spaghetti sauce in so it worked perfectly. However as I think back, I could have just made in two containers...oh well.

Many said they were unable to find the passion fruit puree...I bought passion fruit concentrate (I think it was concentrate, in the frozen juice section of my grocery store. I used the entire container since I knew it wouldn't hurt and maybe just cut back on the simple syrup.

I noticed after 2 days with the fruit in the wine, the wine started turning cloudy and thick so if this goes pass 2 days, maybe strain the fruit and store the remaining wine in a new container.

I'd like to experiment with red wine now. My neighbor makes homemade wine and is always giving bottles of the wine to us. It is so delicious in my spaghetti sauce so it has to be good for a pitcher or sangria, right?
