Favorite new beverage !!!!! I make it with a red zin I had on hand and only other deviations were no pomegranate juice/seeds and subbed Grand Marnier for triple sec because it's what I had and it is delish! First time I made it was for a dinner party and then a made it few weeks later to keep in my fridge as a summer refreshing alternative to having a glass (or two of red wine in the evening. When I finished that batch I reused the fruit in the pitcher and added liquid ingredients to make another half batch.

Best Sangria EVER! I left out the Pomergranate seeds. Not for the light weights; one glass will give you quite the buzzz. For a lighter version I would add a little less brandy. I brought it to a party and people were asking for more!

Hooked!!! I love the fact there is NO carbonated beverage added. The only downside to this recipe is that you have to let it sit for 24 hours.

Wonderful recipe. I, however, did feel that this recipe benefited from the simple syrup. I used 3/4 of the syrup, and I believe this yields perfect results. The other readers that complained of it being too sweet might have used a sweeter wine (tempranillo is perfect!, or perhaps a pomegranate juice blend (pear & apple, etc, as opposed to straight pomegranate juice. This recipe tasted just like the sangria we had all over Barcelona, Spain. Overall, awesome recipe, and would do it again!

This recipe is a keeper! This was my first attempt at sangria. I made it for a bbq and there was none left over. I did it almost exactly as the recipe states except for a few exceptions. I used inexpensive wine and there was no problem with that I really don't think you need to use an expensive wine. I did use the pomegranate juice but not the actual pomegranate. In addition to the other fruit I happened to have some frozen strawberries so I threw them in as well. I've had bad past experience when leaving sliced citrus (like lime and orange in beverage overnight because it makes everything very bitter and undrinkable so I added the orange slices the day of the party and there was no bitterness. I didn't think it was too strong and the brandy works great. I used a good orange liquer better than triple sec but not as pricey as say grand marnier. Give it a try you won't be disappointed!

I prefer a less sweet Sangria. Instead of the simple syrup, we did this: Ice in the glass. 2/3 of sangria. 1/3 of sparkling water or club soda. OFF THE HOOK DELISH!I've made this for parties, girls weekends, etc. ALWAYS a crowd pleaser.

The best red sangria I've ever had. It was a HUGE success with my guests. I'd be proud to serve it again and again! BTW - it would have been equally great with less or no simple syrup but I was happy with the recipe as is.

I lived in southern Spain for three years, and I have to say this is the most rational type of sangria I have come across. It was exactly like what the Spaniards serve in restaurants. Loved this! This sangria will be my go-to recipe from now on!

Awesome Sangria! I've made it twice now and on the first attempt I used reconstituted orange juice and omitted the pomegranate seeds as my grocer was out. It was good, but not near as good as the 2nd batch in which I used fresh squeezed orange juice and included the pomegranate seeds (I also added some fresh lime slices. The recipe also doesn't state if the pomegranate juice is sweetened or unsweetened...I used the unsweetened. Will definitely be making this many more times.
