I followed the basic recipe but added whatever fruit I had on hand. It was a hit!!!! Even people that didn't like red wine loved it! It ran out too fast. Next time I'll make more!!

I tripled the recipe since I was taking this to a Halloween party and EVERYONE loved it - even the "none-wine" drinkers. I follwed the recipe exactly - I wouldn't change a thing.

After trying 3 other recipes, I found this one. The judging was from 8 in our cul de sac. We loved the look of the fruit and sangria in a large container, the wine itself was not overpowered by the brandy and the fruit ending (dessert was lovely. No - one complained during our gathering of 85 adults. In fact, the recipe was requested!!!!

I made this (with only 1/2 cup brandy for a summer BBQ and it was extremely popular! Everyone loved it and it's SO easy to make. Make sure you make it the night before, it has a much different flavor the next day!

If you would like to completely disguise the alcohol in sangria with fruit, this is not your recipe because the alcohol brings out the flavors of the fruit. I had a sangria party and made this sangria; the result was a full-bodied and refreshing beverage. Those whole liked it commented that the 1 cup of Brandy gave this a nice kick. Those who weren't crazy about it said the Brandy masked the fruit flavors. So when it comes to the Brandy, remember to tailor it to your liking.

This is a fool-proof, never-fail crowd pleaser....and New Orleanians know their drinks! This is my stand-by summer drink for get togethers. It is exactly what Sangria should be.

I made this for a party and it was a huge hit... definitely the best sangria I have ever made. I used tempranillo for the wine (the cheap $5 kind from Trader Joe's and used limes instead of apples. Mmmm!
