Alton Brown has a recipe for pomegrante molasses. Also I think the cran/black berry sauce is his recipe called.......Red chile cranberry gravy. I watched the throw down but missed the end. It sound like it is the same.

This is a great spin on brussel sprouts! We loved it. I made the pom molasses from Alton's recipe--super easy. I didn't have vanilla bean, so I just used 1/2 tsp. of extract--a little strong, will use 1/4 tsp. next time. Fabulous recipe--thanks, Bobby!

Even people who don't like brussel sprouts will like this. Pomegranate molasses is available at most grocery stores (ask where it is - my store had it next to the syrup, where I never would have looked. I probably had too much vanilla pecan butter, but it was a very nice addition to the dish.

Great flavors! Made my own molasses by simmering 1.5 cups pomegranate juice with 1/4 c sugar and 1/4 c lemon juice for 30 minutes; it made 6 tablespoons. This recipe is vague on how much butter to use; I used 2 tbs and thought it was too much, so next time I'll skip the vanilla bean and just add 1 tbs butter, a little vanilla extract, and the nuts to the sprouts at the end. VERY juicy dish...it will soak into everything else on the plate. Really yummy and unique way to serve brussels sprouts, though!

My daughter and I watched the Thanksgiving Throwdown last night.
We are planning to make the brussel sprouts. The recipe looked so good and everyone on the show raved about it.
Has anyone make the Pom. molassas???

I second that. I've been looking all over this site and on the web for Bobby's cranberries w/bourbon, jalapeno, vanilla bean recipe. Please put it on the website.

mmclassics re:Now my friends and I are actively on the hunt for pomegranate molasses.

One of the chefs in the NFNS show last summer made pomegranate molasses by reducing straight pomegrante juice ( like the POM brand. The judges thought it was very clever of her so it must be an acceptable substitute. I am so glad that you reviewed this recipe as I thought it sounded delicious and I don't even LIKE Brussels sprouts!

For those of you looking for Pomegranate Molasses you can find it easily on line or make it yourselves. The recipe is simple and can be done well in advance. If you have not tried Brussels Sprouts you need to try this recipe. Even our kids ate them.

Well have not made this yet but looks wonderful. I am not gonna get hung up on the pomegranete molasses because it looks wondeful even with the vanilla butter so on that note.....Come on Bobby give it up on the cranberry/blackberry sauce. I think I can figure it out but would love the recipe as it looks like most of us do. This was a great Throwdown!!
