I have never made a meatloaf (I know, I know but decided to after watching the throw down episode where Bobby made meatloaf. I had to comment and say this was the most AWESOME meatloaf ever!!! The few changes I made were to add shredded carrot instead of the yellow pepper, onion and also add Worcestershire to the glaze. I also did what all of the other comments said an put the glaze on the last 20 minutes of baking. It really was delicious.

I do not know how Bobby lost on the TV show. I thought I made a good Meatloaf until I used Bobby's recipe. It was so good put mine to shame.

Who knew an Irishman could make meatloaf....I just had a meatloaf tasting party, because my 22-year-old son loves meatloaf. I made 3 recipes and this was voted best! BF beat out the Pioneer Woman's meatloaf, which was wrapped in bacon, can you believe it! Also, you might ask WHY I would be cooking meatloaf in the summer....it's because I live in San Francisco and it's always cold here! I am going to be hard pressed to beat the meatloaf tasting party, I had no idea everyone loves meatloaf!

Yup, he exclaimed it emphatically! My parents were in town, and it was special enough to serve for special people. They raved about it and got directions to get to this recipe online. You can serve this with pride for any company.

I had to laugh when I read the review that talks about how the recipe was altered before the reviewer writes about it, and I have to admit I did change a little bit, although, if I hadn't, I'm SURE it would have still earned the 5 stars as-is. Here's what I changed: 1. cooked veggies until they were very soft and the liquid mostly evaporated, 2. added a finely diced hot pepper, 3. (like another reviewer cut the amount of glaze for the outside down to 1/4 c each of catsup and vinegar (but I used the amount the recipe calls for in the loaf.

I was stunned when the outside didn't burn at 475, but I just caramelized perfectly.

Another "Bobby Flay" earns a prized spot in my recipe box!!!

This is now my stand-by meatloaf recipe. The last time I made it I actually re-glazed the loaf every 20 minutes or so while cooking to produce a thicker crust and prevent the sugars from burning. I normally use 50/50 beef and pork because veal is not always easy to find and is never cheap. Simply delicious!

Have made several times when the corresponding ingredients are on sale. Really really good! My first meatloaf ever and I don't think I'll try any other recipes. I also made little individual ones for a dinner party and they were awesome!

This has to be one of my favorites. I would have never of considered pairing ketchup and balsamic vinegar. To add my own little twist, I substitute ground turkey thigh for the meat and add a pinch of red pepper. I serve it with red mashed potatoes and a vegan mushroom gravy. Bobby, please come out with a cook book that has photos for each recipe!!!!!! Your creations are so beautiful but the books I've seen aren't very graphic. Show'em what you've got.

Love this recipe. I used Elk meat instead of veal...it was awesome! I've shared this recipe with friends and they love it too. Thanks, Bobby!
