My finished burger tasted like minute steak with cream gravy. For more heat and flavor, next time, I will use name brand pepper jack cheese

I love this burger. The queso with the poblano and chips are great together. My wife thought they were "ok" but dont worry she is very picky and my kids loved them so that right there sold these to me.

These are delicious! The flavor of the poblano and the crunch of the chips really make it special. The cheese sauce sort of got lost in the whole thing so I might try pepper jack next time.

This recipe is phenomenal! The roasted pablano pepper gave them just the right amount of heat. Loved the crunchy texture the chips gave; it took me back to when I was a kid and use to put chips on my sandwiches :- 5 star burger all the way.

Bobby Santa Fe Burger is amazing! Make the sauce with Pepper Jack as suggested -- one of the top three burgers I've ever had!

Based on other reviews, I new the queso needed some help... so I used Pepper Jack instead for the cheese sauce. Very good burger.

I thought this burger was pretty good overall, but I made a couple minor adjustments. Instead of preparing a pablano chile, I used canned chopped chiles that I mixed into the meat before forming it into patties. I like the chiles in the meat rather than sitting atop the burger. I placed some tortilla chips on the bottom half of the bun, spooned a small amount of queso sauce over it, placed the burger down on it, then topped the burger with more queso sauce. As for the sauce itself, I thought it was a tad bland with just salt and pepper, so I added a little cayenne to it for a needed kick.

Sorry Bobby but I had a hard time getting the flavors out of this one. Maybe the Plabanos in WA state are as good as the ones in the SW. Besides my cooking skills are rusty so no doubt that had something to do with it.

I roasted the chili on the grill - no salt or pepper; heat was real low and still grilled up nicely (fortunately since I forgot about it. I didn't steam it (forgot. It tasted good though.

I think my biggest mistake was too much burger for the adornments. If you're a big (1/2 lb or better burger fan, this combo might not be what you're looking for. My queso sauce was pretty bland as well so I might have botched it there as well.
