The grill is a Engelbrecht Braten made in Paxton Illinois.

Can't wait to try the beans and relish. I'll stick with my own pit full of red oak for the meat. I save the charcoal for hot dogs and burgers. And for you guys that want "real" SM BBQ, get a cut of top block. Tri Tip is good, but Top Block is the original and is waaaay better. Oh, and don't forget your lenguica. Born and raised in Santa Maria.

Bobby, all I can say is THANK YOU for giving me the confidence to become a grill master! My tri tip was smaller, 1.75 lbs, so I did 8 mins of high heat on each side w/ the lid closed, then did 8 mins on low w/ the lid closed. Came out to a perfect 130 degrees. My fiancé's and my first tri tip on the BBQ and it was a great success. I just LOVE your roasted salsa recipe from your BBQ skirt steak, so I paired that with this tri tip. Giada has this wonderful corn and sun dried tomato relish that she paired w/ kebab, so I made that, too. I added cilantro and lime juice to tie it in w/ Bobby's salsa. We also grilled corn on the cob and zucchini, but I'll try the beans next time. A+

All I made were the beans (although I did follow Bobby's recipe for a Perfectly Grilled Steak for my strip steaks. These beans are now a family favorite and will be made regularly. Smokey taste and super easy to put together either on the grill or stovetop. I got nervous about the amount for 6 people and threw in another can of beans without adjusting the bacon, onion, or pepper. It was good, but I will add a bit more bacon next time. And for 6 of us, the 3 cans was a perfect amount with no leftovers.

Pretty darned good - make sure you use a tri-tip or it is NOT Santa Maria bbq. Not sure which grill he is using, but in Santa Maria, CA - the COSTCO store has these types of grill seasonally. Call, email or try to order them on line if you are a member. You can also get them from some of the local hardware stores - ACE, Orchard Supply, etc. Small town living here, big town tastes!

Finally made this tonight on my "Big Green Ceramic Cooker". Tri-tip was to die for. Tender and juicy. I bought red oak chips plus tri-tip seasoning and pinquito beans from Susie Q's brands in Santa Maria.

I've also been curious about the grill Bobby used. After a lot of searching, it looks like a Braten Grill/Engelbrecht Grill.

As usual for BF the bean and tomato relishes are excellent. I've made tri-tips many times and you don't need the fancy, expensive hand-crank toy that BF used in the show, a Weber with charcoal on one side will do the trick very well (One-Touch gold 26.75" is brilliant for $300 and is large enough to cook 2 or 3 tri-tips at once.

The tri-tip looks amazing. Like some of the other viewers I wold like info on the grill he used with the grate that raises. I've searched online and haven't been able to find any information. Please give the make and model or website where something like this could be purchased. Thanks.

This was fabulous!!! In the show he squeezed fresh lime juice on as well. We added the bacon to our dishes when serving to keep it crispy. This is a keeper for sure!!
