OK, today I'm going back on my diabetic diet. I'm voting for this Kale recipe, even though I have never even tasted Kale. I will, however, try this recipe. So you don't get my normal "5 Stars", until I try it. item not reviewed by moderator and published
5 stars b/c it is super easy, quick, super healthy &DELISH.....as written. That said I like Bit more garlic Nd good pinch of fresh grated parm cheese mixed in. Once, I too added about 2-3 T. Choped up match stick carrots b/c I needed to use them up. Tat added a nice hint of sweetness when addinging the red wine vinegar. So I think I will keep adding the chopped uo matchstick carrots. It bumps up the vit. A and tastes good. Even though I am cooking for just me, I made the whole recipe. So glad Idid. I use some left overs mixed into scrambled eggs yummmm. Then i took lileague1's suggestion and added more garlic,&parm cheese plus more stock, w/ noodles for a main dish But also added in a can of no sodium diced tomatoe that contained basil garlic and oregano. So while Bobby's side dish is great as written....it just keeps on going on to all kinds of good things. Oh BTW it is also good with balsamic vinegar, as others have mentioned.
My suggestions are to make lots, don't skip the vinegar( but could go a tad scant if you have doubts) and add a good sized pinch of fresh grated parm.Oh yeah, and save this one to your recipe box and make it often.
item not reviewed by moderator and published
Bobby's recipe made me fall in love with kale! This recipe is so simple, yet so delicious!

item not reviewed by moderator and published
Yummy!! Have made several times. Use chopped garlic from a jar, and Trader Joe's low sodium chicken broth. Delicious every time! I don't even need vinegar.....thanks Bobby! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Easy and delicious. I substituted balsamic vinegar for the red wine vinegar, and added a LOT more garlic. item not reviewed by moderator and published
This is fantastic! I've had it many times and I am having it tonight! (I've substituted the veggie stock with the chicken stock at times and it tastes great)
item not reviewed by moderator and published
So easy, I didn't think it could possible be good, but it was delicious.
I like things spicy, so I did add some crushed red pepper, and I made mine with water (no chicken stock around) and it was still great. I will make this again and again
item not reviewed by moderator and published
Made this using the Costco jumbo bag of Earthbound Farms "power" greens (kale, swiss chard and spinach) and it turned out beautifully. Zero prep outside of peeling and slicing garlic. Speedy and delicious! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Made this many times as a side dish but tonight I needed a main with what I had on hand (Kale, linguini, onion, garlic and reggiano parmesan). Added more garlic and stock then added the cooked pasta and cheese tossed w/fresh basil at the end. Family said it was yummy and hit the spot item not reviewed by moderator and published
My "go-to" recipe for sautéed kale. Easy and delicious! Even my husband will eat it! item not reviewed by moderator and published
made exactly as directed - easy & tasty. Will definitely make it again! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Very easy and an excellent taste and texture. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Just delightful. This effervescent salad was just a wonderful taste of joy in my mouth. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Excellent! With the addition of the red wine vinegar it really makes it delicious! I never thought kale could taste so good! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Dear wife and I enjoyed this idea item not reviewed by moderator and published
I loved it. I added matchstick carrots because I had them. Do NOT skip the vinegar, it makes this dish. item not reviewed by moderator and published
This was my first time cooking kale and this simple recipe was great. I added a couple Tbsp of Merlot to the recipe and it was delicious. I've had a kale plant in my garden for 2 yrs and only used it for juicing. I feel like a fool for not trying this sooner. item not reviewed by moderator and published
This was my first time making kale greens and the recipe was absolutely fantastic!!! I added two strips of bacon for extra flavoring - loved it! Will make again....and again. Oh - my husband is not a big veggie fan, and he loved it too. A+ from me. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Very good and quick as I had already washed and chopped the kale and refrigerated it from a previous meal. This was so simple and good. I did add extra garlic as we do like it and I omitted the vinegar completely. Hubby doesn't like a vinegar taste in anything. Served with crispy roasted potatoes, sliced steak, and sauteed mushrooms. Got an A+ from hubby. item not reviewed by moderator and published
this recipe word for word is on the back of my packaged kale from the store.... hmmm, interesting item not reviewed by moderator and published
I made this for my dinner tonight with a few tweaks. I used garlic salt and powder instead of the two cloves of garlic, and I used apple cider vinegar instead of the red wine variety. I doubled the vinegar as well. Totally SCRUMPTIOUS!!! :D A tasty tangy treat! item not reviewed by moderator and published
This recipe was very good. I didn't have enough kale so augmented with spinach. I'll definitely make this again. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I Really like this recipe I cooked it for dinner for me and my son I added my special spices and son cherry tomatoes and cornered it with sliced steak. It was awesome. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Easy and Tasty! This is my first time preparing and eating Kale. This is a great "first timer's" recipe. If you cook regularly, you probably already have all the ingredients. The preparation and cook times were on the mark. The only modifications I would make would be to use fresh ground pepper (I ran out of pepper corns and have no one to blame for that but myself) and I would use four cloves of garlic. The red wine vinegar I had on hand had herbs...I've been a little intimidated by the heavy, rough appearance of Kale in the market, but happened to pick up a bunch at a local farmer's market that resembled mustard greens. They were springy with small stalks. I see myself easily putting this dish into my rotation of vegetable sides and shaking up the whole carrots/spinach/peas routine! item not reviewed by moderator and published
This is the first time I've ever had Kale and did it myself from my garden. Since I didn't have red wine vinegar I used some Marsala red wine and it was awesome. Skipped the pepper (I'm allergic). item not reviewed by moderator and published
the basic concept of cooking kale this way is fantastic , great texture and flavors , the only thing i would change is the vinegar , me personally i thought it made it a bit sickly after a few helpings . maybe a chicken stock base and i light tasty gravy ????? item not reviewed by moderator and published
Wow. Yummy simplicity. Thank you! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Tastes good, and will have your digestive system back on track in no time!! item not reviewed by moderator and published
This was an excellent recipe - the red wine vinegar at the end makes it. I added sliced red onion with the garlic, doubled the garlic, and added basil, spinach and collard greens. Served over quinoa pasta and garnished with Parmesan - lovely! I am planning to serve as a side with steak or with pasta/chicken next time to get my husband to eat more of it. The red wine vinegar and onions and pasta make it a similar flavor to the Noodles dish Pasta Fresca. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Whole family loved it! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Never had kale before, tried this recipe as first experience. First bite not so appetizing but by the second and third bite I was really liking it. Would definitely make this recipe again! item not reviewed by moderator and published
This recipe is so easy, tasty and healthy. I served it with wild rice grilled and grilled wings. Thank you Bobby Flay! item not reviewed by moderator and published
First time cooking Kale, I usually just blend it in my smoothies. The vinegar really makes it tasty. I will be making this again item not reviewed by moderator and published
good stuff - I drizzled some honey on it as well. item not reviewed by moderator and published
This was great! I added red onions, carrots, celery and bell peppers to make it more colorful. I was out of red wine vinegar so used white instead. Served with toasted pita bread instead of forks. item not reviewed by moderator and published
This is my go-to kale recipe! Yum yum! item not reviewed by moderator and published
This was my first time preparing kale and I chose this recipe thanks to all the good reviews. What a great choice! We all loved it including the kids. My youngest said "Wow! This is almost as good as broccoli" Which is high praise indeed. Will def be making again and again. item not reviewed by moderator and published
i used red wine vinegar and water as a base. it was so yummy, the flavour just popped in my mouth. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Yum! I used a half cup of red wine from a bottle that I didn't enjoy for drinking instead of the stock/vinegar. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Recipe was easy and tasty. My family like the change from sauted spinach. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I had only ever made kale chips in the oven but this recipe changed my opinion about baked kale forever. Sauteing kale is not only healthier for you because it breaks down the cell walls so your digestion system can absorb the nutrients better, but simply tastes better. A new method of cooking kale has become my new favorite snack recipe. Thank you Bobby Flay. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Very good! We used homemade chicken broth in ours and a little squeeze of lemon as a finishing touch since we served it with some sous vide shrimp. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Easy and a crowd favorite. item not reviewed by moderator and published
The recipe sucked - 2 minutes in and the stock had evaporated and burnt. What a waste. item not reviewed by moderator and published
VERY good! I bought baby kale by mistake and wondered what I was going to do with it....thanks Bobby, we loved it! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I'm new to fixing kale but this was really good. I did add one small onion sliced while cooking garlic and someone said they used rice vinegar I used that. I will make this again item not reviewed by moderator and published
This was my 1st time ever trying kale and I absolutely loved it. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I followed the directions, exactly, but ended up burning the garlic when I turned up the heat to add the kale. So, it had a slight burnt garlic taste. I think, if I can figure out how to NOT burn the garlic, it will be great. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I've never cooked kale before, and I was a little worried - but this is amazing!! (I didn't have red wine vinegar, so I omitted that.) item not reviewed by moderator and published
Thank you, Bobby Flay-- the kale was wonderful. item not reviewed by moderator and published

I have never had Kale before. I added some cayenne pepper to it because I like spicy fodds. This dish was delicious!! I am so glad that I now have another veggie side. Thanks Bobby!! item not reviewed by moderator and published
LOl lol thats funny but true. Recipeis on the back of the kale bag. But I love kale and use it in my healthy drinks every morning! Gonna try this and im sure it will be DELICIOUS AND HEALTHY!!! :D ♡♥♡♥ item not reviewed by moderator and published
This is the exact same recipe as that on the bag of kale I just bought. Who stole from whom? item not reviewed by moderator and published
Great recipe. This is the first time I cooked kale and found it to be delicious. I used baby kale and followed the recipe exactly as written. I was not disappointed! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Definitely a keeper! Since fat does not make you fat (SUGAR is the enemy!), I melted in 8 oz of cream cheese toward the ended for a cheesy veggie plate. A little cayenne pepper gives a little bite and keeps the bitterness away as well. Delicious! item not reviewed by moderator and published
absolutely best way I have had kale yet!! Thank you Bobby Flay for an easy and delicious way to eat kale. I made a no boil mac and cheese and mixed the two together. More fattening than needed but oh so yummy!! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Phenomenal! I used chicken stock instead of veggie….heaven! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Loved this recipe so easy to prepare. First time I tried Kale and it wasn't bad. Sautéed onions with the garlic. Had to steam it about ten minutes. Stems were a little under done. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Delicious and quick way to prepare kale. I used rice wine vinegar and the result was lovely. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I just bought a huge bag of baby kale at a big-box retailer. A bowl of kale salad is good, but boring. This recipe for sauteed kale is delish! I cut out most of the oil, using a spray oil to save calories. Quite frankly, you don't need any oil. Just steam cook the garlic in some broth, then add in the kale and cook as directed. Just before all the broth boiled off, I added the vinegar. This was so delicious, and took that green, bitter taste out of the kale. A new veggie side dish for me! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Easy. I used our wok and loved the flavor. item not reviewed by moderator and published
My husband says best Kale ever. I add a bit of prosciutto with the oil letting it brown before adding the garlic. If you try this and are using slices either cut them before browning it or remove after browned and crumble on the top when serving. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I added the red wine vinegar just before all the liquid evaporated. Quick and delicious. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Delicious and healthy....ate it over rice...5 star item not reviewed by moderator and published
I have never had kale this good. Simple, quick, minimal ingredients, and super tasty! item not reviewed by moderator and published
i like food but don't know how to cook. i used 'adult' Kale. i think i allowed for too many stems, and should have cut them mid-way. don't burn the garlic. i had to adjust cooking time 'cause they didn't seem to work for me. i like the kale a bit chewy. couldn't seem to reduce the stock before the Kale would get overcooked. added the wine vinegar and salt and pepper. awesome. it will be my go to. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Quick, easy, tastey! Loved by a 6 year old and 9 year old even!! Now that is a true test. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I'm addicted to it. I add sliced red onions and sometimes chicken broth in place of vegetable. Also I use Balsamic Vinegar instead of the Wine Vinegar although either one works. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Absolutely delicious. Prepared for supper tonight and LOVED it...... item not reviewed by moderator and published
Simply delicious! The combination of all the flavors made this recipe a rock star! I followed the recipe exactly but cooked a bit longer (8 minutes instead of 5') because I didn't have baby kale at home and I wanted the leaves to be a bit more tender. Please DO NOT use substitutes unless you are trying to recreate a different dish. item not reviewed by moderator and published
This turned out great. Key was the choice of Italian Kale which has smaller and perhaps less coarse/meaty greens which seemed less bitter than the typical large leaf Kale we have used with this same recipie. I made a substitution of white balsamic vinegar and used previously roasted garlic in addition to the raw garlic in this recipie. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Do not skip the Red Wine Vinegar, certainly pulls it all together. I added bamboo shoots for color and texture. Will fix again. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Hi Bobby...Loved this recipe. I love to experiment and used mustard greens. First time I have ever not boiled my greens to death. Also, I added sliced onions to the greens while they were steaming. Absolutely deelishus! I love all of Bobby's shows and recipes. Although sometimes, I hold up on some of the hotties. Maxine B. item not reviewed by moderator and published
My family loved this for supper last night. The adjustment I made with the recipe is that I added about 1/4 cup of wine with1/2 cup of water & one chicken bouillon cube. I cooked it for a bit longer as well. Delicious! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Followed the directions and it was a disaster. We purchased a bag of kale already chopped. Medium high heat cooked the garlic too fast. Then 1/2 cup of water (didn't have stock was not enough as the kale burned way before the 5 minutes was over. We continued with the recipe off the heat and ate it but won't do this one again. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I followed the recipe but had to increase cooking time because at 5 minutes covered and another 5 uncovered, it was extremely tough. Cooked it longer and added other ingredients per the recipe. The stems are inedible. The leaves are like eating styrofoam. I think the leaves should be taken off the stems and maybe steamed before sauteing. I'm seeing all these rave reviews and wonder if we're eating the same thing. I love greens but kale done this way....not so much :-( item not reviewed by moderator and published
So yummy and so simple. I didn't add the vinegar and it was still delicious. Can't wait to try it with the full ingredients next time! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Honestly, the recipe is awesome. But folks who didn't follow the recipe exactly or "forgot to add vinegar" shouldn't downgrade Bobby for that. It's your fault for not following the recipe, so give the chef credit where credit is due. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Key word in the ingredients list- young kale. I am lucky enough to live near one of the best grocery stores in the nation a.k.a. Wegmans, which happens to carry baby kale. I have been looking for new ways to use it and this was perfect. The baby kale is so much easier to work with and cooks very quickly just like the recipe states. If you can find baby kale, use it! The vinegar at the end adds a nice acidity. I didn't have red wine vinegar so I subbed a little balsamic and splash of red wine. Yum... item not reviewed by moderator and published
This was an easy recipe to follow. The first time I cooked this they were perfect, the next time I wanted the stems a little more tender so I cooked them longer, they were awful so I suggest following the recipe as written. I just cut a little more off the stems so I had more of the leaf, and this is a very tasty recipe. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I added about 1/2 tsp of ginger just 'cause. It was tasty! item not reviewed by moderator and published
This was my first time cooking kale. I followed the recipe but used medium flame instead of high. I forgot the vinegar. The end result was wonderful, my husband who is a bit picky tried it off my and declared it good and piled his plate high. We will be having this again. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I followed this recipe and I thought it was awful. The kale was fresh and I love kale. It took about 18 minutes to cook.....not 5. Maybe I messed up but I can't see how because it was so easy. The stems took forever to get tender so I just removed them after cooking. That was a pain in the butt! When I make kale again I will do it with olive oil, fresh garlic (minced and salt and pepper. Oh, and because it took so long to cook, it was very unappetizing looking. I may just throw it out. item not reviewed by moderator and published
This was my first time to saute Kale and I LOVED it!! I has such a nice flavor. I cook spinach a lot and this was such a nice change from that. I made this to go along with my grilled Mahi Mahi with basil butter. Those two combo were perfect together. I will make this often. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Absolutely delicious! I'm not much into greens and I could eat these on a regular basis. Even the teen ate every bite. item not reviewed by moderator and published
It was excellent! Even my kids liked it! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I haven't tried kale yet, but it's all over every cooking show not only on Food Network and Cooking Channel but many other networks as well, so I bought some. I have a large bag of chopped kale with no directions or recipes suggested on the bag. I opened it and the sulfuric odor had me reeling for a moment. I googled kale odor and most of the reviews stated that the smell is normal, sort of like cabbage, so I'm going forward. I'll use this recipe because let's face it, you can't go wrong with a Bobby Flay recipe. I always read the reviews on every Food Network recipes before I make a dish and the reviews here are good. Wish me luck! item not reviewed by moderator and published
This is a beautiful dish. First time I have cooked kale and this was sooo good. I just added a pinch of chilli flakes and teamed with this Donna Hay crunchy-parmesan-crumbed-chicken recipe was amazing. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Delicious, flavorful! So quick and goes with any kind of meat. Easy, healthy dinner item not reviewed by moderator and published
This is a great recipe to introduce yourself to kale. Simple, easy and so delicious!! I like to add some red pepper flake. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I tried the sauteed kale and I love it. It's quick, easy, tasty. It's just what I need since I am trying to eat more kale and some other things that work on inflammation. I've never eaten kale before but I now know it's good in salads and cooked. I like it because there is still some crunch when it's cooked. I added a few other fresh vegetables I had and like being able to do that. I used yellow peppers, onions, mushrooms,. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Pleasantly Surprised!!! My first time cooking kale and it was very easy and quick. I listened to other reviews and I added other seasonings... such as extra garlic, red pepper flakes, a little cayenne and lemon pepper... it had a nice kick to it. My son didn't complain, so its a WINNER!! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I love this recipe! I used extra garlic and no salt or red wine vinegar, and the Kale turned out delicioso! Oh, and I used chicken broth since that's what we had on hand, and served it with a bit of medium ground pepper sprinkled on top! IMPORTANT: After the 5 minutes of cooking with the lid on, be sure to finish it off by cooking until the liquid is gone. Kale has the highest nutritional value of the "greens" and with recipe we can enjoy it daily! Thanks for the excellent recipe! item not reviewed by moderator and published
This recipe is tastytown!! I read reviews saying that it was the best but I didn't believe it, how could kale satisfy a chip craving? This simple recipe is the BEST!! If you get them just crunchy enough, they kind of taste like chips! I added a little garlic powder to mine before baking and they came out perfectly. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Best kale I've ever cooked (out of the three times I've tried. I followed the recipe to a t- using water instead of broth because we don't have veggie broth. Added real bacon bits with the water to try to get some extra flavor. These turned out excellent. It please my husband, my 12 year old, and even my 3 year old! Will make weekly! item not reviewed by moderator and published

Delicious! Very good! Fool proof recipe. So I decided to BYOC (be your own chef I added 1/2 a sliced onion to the chopped garlic. I added a pinch of Cumin, pinch of turmeric & a pinch of white pepper (the seasoning blend I use when I make Kale Chips Used chicken stock instead of veggie stock Added a drizzle of honey and only used 1tablespoon of rice wine vinegar (love salty sweet combo Will be making this again item not reviewed by moderator and published
Very very good, cooked it with rutabaga, carrots and onions. Even my 18 month old and 3 year old enjoyed it item not reviewed by moderator and published
My first time trying kale. I'll admit that it wasn't bad, but I feel like it could use a little more pizazz. Like some bacon or mushrooms or something to compliment it. Make sure you sautee garlic on medium and the covered kale on medium high. item not reviewed by moderator and published
That sounds good, I'm gonna have to try that for a quick meal idea. Thanks for posting. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Yup, I gonna try it too.Soo glad people actually DO post variations. Some people post negitive comments about variations. But I like reading BOTH as written posts AND variations. Thx. This variations sounds great ! item not reviewed by moderator and published

It could be that your heat was too high item not reviewed by moderator and published
It does say high heat. Good to know. item not reviewed by moderator and published
It says medium-high heat so cooking to high might have been the problem. item not reviewed by moderator and published

Buy a thick based pan. The cheaper pans will nearly always cause garlic to burn item not reviewed by moderator and published
I sometimes scoop out the garlic after it has gotten soft and flavored the oil so that it won't burn, then add it back in at the end. item not reviewed by moderator and published

wait, hold up. i like food and don't really know how to cook and was looking for a good Kale saute. Bobby Flay is the real deal. Just really read the recipe and cook it as ur understanding. Cooking has meaning. This is now one of my favourites. Just had it tonight. Although i had to adjust the cooking time and next time i will cut the stock mid-way to the Kale leaves. I got too much stock even though it's makes the dish. It was simple and delicious. New favourite. item not reviewed by moderator and published
As with all greens, if they are large, I take them off the stems. I freeze the stems and them use them for soups or to make vegetable broth. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I made this last night - same thing. Too chewy, stems were a major distraction. I'm just learning to cook greens, so I'll try again. I've had better success with rainbow chard. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I rip leaves off stems. Stems are too tough! item not reviewed by moderator and published
