These are really good. My husband doesn't really care for sweet potatoes, yet loves spicy and he raved over these. I only had one sweet potato and 2 idaho potatoes, so I just substituted and the sweet potatoes were definately the best. The chili and the sweet potato really complement each other. Can't wait to make them again!!

This recipe was perfect! I loved the nice spicy kick that accompanied the sweet potatoes. A perfect combination of sweet, silky potatoes and spicy cream. It was so easy to make and delicious. Highly recommended!

We love this recipe! My family uses it for Thanksgiving, and Christmas. This year after Thanksgiving, we took the left overs and scooped about a tablespoon into some wonton wrappers. Deep fried them. After deep frying, my mom and I browned about a half a stick of butter and added fresh thyme and sage with it.

It was a hit with the family!

This was SO EASY and SO DELICIOUS...best side dish I've ever served at Thanksgiving AND Christmas dinner! I used way more than 10 layers of potatoes...probably more like 15 layers, but it went fast and the results were nothing short of perfect. This one's a keeper!

This recipe couldn't have been any easier. The spiciness of the peppers and the sweetness of the sweet potatoes go great together. I don't think you even have to mess with doing the layers. Just layer in the potatoes and pour the cream mixture over the top. I made it for a dinner party and everyone loved it. I can't wait to make it again!

I prepared this recipe for Thanksgiving. It was easy and delicious. The kids found it to be too spicy, so you might want to cut back on the chipotle if there are delicate palates in your family. A profound improvement over the traditional marshmallow topped sweet potatoes. We will definitely add this one to our recipe file.

I was invited to Thanksgiving and asked to bring the sweet potato "casserole" and the mashed potatoes. Talk about uninspiring side dishes ! I usually just mash the sweet potatoes because I'm so busy with all the other more complicated dishes I typically make. And I was afraid that someone might be expecting marshmallows on the sweet potatoes (ugh. Since I had the time to focus this year, I sought out something different. Bobby's recipe made all the difference !

I sort of doubled the recipe. 3 cups of cream to 6 sweet potatoes. I was perhaps a bit heavy handed on the chipotles in adobo - it was a bit spicy. I was surprised at how far the chipotles in adobo sauce went toward emitting fire. Since my audience was mostly latin, this was OK.

Thanks Bobby for providing what will now become a standard staple in my Thanksgiving repertoire. But please don't tell anyone how easy this is. I want them to think I'm a genius cook ...

Hey - now that we have 6 iron chefs, can we look forward to a Trivial Pursuit, Iron Chef edition for next Thanksgiving?
