    I made this recipe when it first appeared in the Mesa Grill cookbook that I got for Christmas. It is such a hit that my family wants it every Thanksgiving in place of sweet potatoes with pecans and marshmallows.

    The chipolte puree is made by pureeing a can of chiles in adobo sauce. Put in a jar and use it when you need it. Very simple - you can find it in any grocery store.

    Loved these. For those who've had trouble finding chipotle puree, I found it in a can labeled "chipotle salsa" (right next to the chipotles in adobo at a Whole Foods near me. I made it exactly as written, except for adding a little bit of shredded monterey jack cheese in between the layers and on top. I wouldn't change a thing, though I didn't quite use all of the cream mixture. Great recipe!

    We had these at a friend's BBQ and LOVED IT!!! I want to prepare this recipe for my family, but am not sure what "chipotle pepper puree" is.

    Do I buy and puree the peppers or is this a sauce I can find in a jar??

    Love Bobby -- Watch all his shows!

    I made these tonight and everyone agreed they were good but I did not use the correct pepper so they were not smokey flavored. I couldn't find chipotles in adobo sauce or anything like it at the local supermarket so I will shop around and find the right stuff. I used a mildy spicey dried mexican pepper and made a puree out of it. II will have to look around for the right stuff and make them again. Mine did turn out with to much thin sauce and will try the cheese suggestion also next time. I think the size of potatoes really makes the difference since some reviewers said it was fine and some said to runny. My picky teenager even said it was decent but needed a little something so I gotta find the chipotles.

    I made the meatloaf from this episode pretty much as directed (and it was fab btw, but did not have the time (or ingridients to follow this recipe exactly.
    But the flavors sounded yummy, and like they would go well w/the main dish....so I whipped up a batch Sandra Lee style w/canned yams and half & half along w/the other original ingridients and basically made a mashed version of this.
    Not quite as fancy, but still totally delish!;

    These were the best sweet potatoes I have ever had! My family is usually not a fan of them, but everyone enjoyed eating these.

    To cut back on fat I used non-dairy coffee creamer and I used Knorr's chipolte miniCubes to save on time. It was outstanding. I t can be eaten alone as a side dish or used as a base for a main dish by adding chicken, etc. Bobby has a real winner in this dish.
