This is the best way I know to fix a dog. Sooooooo good! Thanks for the receipt. Just be glad they didn't call it a fruit and nut dog from TX. I'm from TX, born and raised. Go to Austin and you'll find plenty of people put cold slaw on their hot dogs. Dogs are not from Texas so just be glad they honored us by naming it the "Texas Dog". I did notice you two Texans are from the boonies, maybe you need to get out more.

There is nothing wrong with this recipe, but please get your facts straight, don't call it a TEXAS dog, people in TEXAS eat CHILI DOGS, usually with mustard and yes, they do like ketchup on their dogs. Do your research people!!! Love the food network though, keep up the good work

I have lived in Texas 56 years... and I have NEVER heard of putting Cabbage or Cole Slaw on a Hot Dog... I'm not saying it might not be good... BUT IT ISNT TEXAS !!! A good ol Texas Hot Dog..... Mustard, Chili, Cheese, Onion and Relish!

Being from Texas and lived all over the state, I have to say, Cole Slaw does not go on a Texas Dog. Yes some people like cole slaw but it started in West Virginia.

I made a variation of this recipe just from watching the show, using my own barbeque sauce recipe and cole slaw recipe, which is on the sweet side. I served them at a large party and ended up making over 80 hot dogs. They were a huge hit.
