I always enjoy pumpkin pie and after watching the tv show, my wife decided to make a regular Libby's pumpkin pie and a Bobby Flay pie with the precise recipe contained on this site.

Seven of us tried both pies and six of us agreed that the Bobby Flay pie was the best of the two, hands down. Since this is my review, I'll go so far as to say it's the best pie I've ever enjoyed. The pie needs to be baked ahead of time and allowed to set before digging in.

What makes it special? The delicate taste, light consistency and perfect flavored topping make it a delightful experience. For the pumpkin pie eater who wants the heavy, in-your-face rich pumpkin taste - this isn't it. Thanks, Bobby Flay.

Don't know how this recipe won the throw-down. I and both and hands down the other recipe is far and away better. I have made some great Bobby Flay recipes this one is average at best.

Cudos to Bobby Flay. This is my first time making a pumpkin pie and it was the bomb! I am not a big fan of a graham cracker crust, so I excahnged it for a home made pastry crust instead. The combination of all the spices in this pie really complimented the fresh pumkin puree. I used a combination of vanilla bean and a pumkin essence, and the pie was devine. The pie cuts nicely, and looks even great on a dessert plate. You go Bobby!!

So disappointing. I spent a bit of money on the ingredients and precious time preparing the pie and it was a huge disappointment. This pie had no flavor whatsoever. I used fresh nutmeg and a whole vanilla bean. I was embarrassed that I took it as the primary pie to some friends for Thanksgiving. I love all kinds of sweets. In fact, I have never had a pumpkin pie I didn't like, until I made this one. I would have been so much better off stopping and picking up one of those awful cheap grocery store pies.

    Bobby,
You inspired me when you spoke at Aetna's healthy eating event. You said run (which I do and that you eat 2/3 of your meal to help with portion control. I think each person in our family wanted to eat 2/3 OF THIS PIE IT IS SO ****&(_^^ amazing!!

Stunning pumpkin pie! If you are hosting thanksgiving at your house this year, this recipe is a must! The whipped cream just knocks it out of the park! Go Bobby!

I have yet to make the pie but have bought all the ingredients. I would just like to add that whole vanilla beans are easy to find at whole foods and similar stores and it was only $2.99.

Bobby Flay is fun to watch and I'm sure a great cook, but he goes so overboard on this stuff, where in the world does the average person get real vanilla beans, Please for one thing they are very expensive and you almost have to order them on the internet,
The recipe on the Libby's can of pumpkin is still the best, sorry Bobby

Its very different from the other recipe posted on the site http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/bobby-flay/bobby-flays-pumpkin-pie-with-cinnamon-crunch-and-bourbon-maple-whipped-cream-recipe/index.html. Anyone try this one?

This pie was incredible. I used a little more than 1-1/2 cups of pumpkin, I ended up using mostly the whole can. I think that the vanilla bean is a must and gives it a special taste. Great texture. Graham cracker crust is a good plus. I am exchanging my regular pumpkin pie recipe this Thanksgiving for this one.
