I made this last night and tweaked it a little, needless to say it was AWESOME! Put in a bottled BBQ sauce and added a bit more ketchup and worchestershire. Also cut back on the vinegar and put on potato rolls. Not a big fan of sloppy joes, always thought of manwich but this was amazing. Kids loved it! Definitely will make again.

This recipe is fabulous! The flavor of the beef is amazing. I was short on time so I used my favorite bbq sauce from the grocery store and it was still good. Can't wait to try it with the bbq sauce in the recipe.

Oh, one more thing..I was afraid it would not be sweet enough so I did not add the 2 Tbsp of vinegar, one seemed like enough. In addition,I really made my brown sugar measurements on the heaping side. As it sits and cools the sauce thickens and flavors get more complex. I wonder how long it would keep in the fridge. Not like it would last that long but just the same I would like to know.

I give credit to Bobby Flay, but I AM the star when I cook these. I just use Sweet Baby Rays to make it a little siimpler (why fool around?, and just throw them on a potato roll. Oh, and the recipe used to be a little goofy, because it has you remove the meat but didn't tell you when to put back in. I see that's been fixed, but I usually combined it once the peppers and onions were done. It gives the meat more chance to absorb some flavor, especially if you're serving right away.

The BBQ sauce is to die for and the Sloppy's.. Well, the most incredible I ever had! Leave it to Bobby, is all I can say... I have so much respect for his taste and skills.. Wow! He's like God of the food world in my opinion.. If there is any critique at all I would say that next time I will use Italian parsley rather than cilantro, although I love cilantro, I think I would prefer the less pungent addition parsley.. But.. It tastes wonderful regardless!

Did this last night ... I made the assumption that receipt is incorrect and stopped at adding the BBQ Sauce in with the beef.

I did add in a little more Worcestershire sauce after adding the sauce to balance it a bit better.

    Overall a keeper!

I substituted the ground beef for ground pork butt and added 8oz of mexican chorizo and 3oz of ground bacon! pork makes everything better.

I agree with a couple of other reviews, too sweet - needs more heat!
But it is good! I always like Bobby Flays ideas.
Update: The recipe is written wrong, the additions at the end of the duplicate ingredients is an error. Just make the BBQ sauce and thats it. Other than that just add the beef, a bit more ancho powder and of course the veggies. YUM!

Oh man.... BEST sloppy joes I have ever eaten. My mom made these for me when I visited home last. She said they took a bit of time to make, but they tasted so good, and on her behalf, I claim they were worth it.
