The onion-potato gratin is one of my go to side dishes! I've always had great feedback when I make it. I'm usually not a fan of leftovers, but it reheats relatively well!

Potatoes were great, although I probably would next time leave out the balsamic. It was worth caramalizing the onion. The work involved to do the tornadoes was over the top and although my better half enjoyed the overall meal, I thought it a lot of work for nothing in particular. Would have preferred to have had a great fillet mignon rather than go through all the work - a pity as I have enjoyed making some of his recipes before

I am a new cook - even though I am 44 - and I made this last night for the first time. No only did my husband love it, so did my 15 year old daughter and her two friends. One of them is a vegetarian and begged me for the recipe. Pretty motivating for me to keep on cooking!

I cooked my steaks a little longer... also, I used half and half instead of heavy cream and the potatoes needed longer cooking. good recipe, good dinner!

the gratin was delicious and extremely flavorful, had to cook about 75 minutes instead of 55. Maybe my oven is off?? Carmelizing the onions took a while, but definitely worth it.

we did a little improvising because we didn't have shallots, used garlic instead and this recipe was used solely for it's mushroom sauce. we wanted a good ssauce to go with our steak and eggs breakfast. it turned out great and we will be using this sauce again. next time with pork tenderloin.

This is among one of the most delicious, eye-appealing and elegant meals I've ever put together. Kudos to Bobby Flay, and my special thanks to him for allowing these recipes to be shared.
