don't be blinded to the forest for the trees! this is merely lettuce, lunchmeat, and cheese, with dressing. use lettuce YOU like, use lunchmeat YOU like (mortadella is a good choice, easily available to most and not prohibitively expensive. I'm not partial to arugula (grew it in the garden and had ready access to tender young leaves, on thru; just a harsh lettuce, radicchio i like as a complementary lettuce, but it is too expensive. As for dressing, use any italian dressing you like- your own or storebought! Now enjoy. They've given us the idea, and we've put in OUR favorite ingredients!!

It's too bad Helen decided to give this one star without trying it because it didn't sound dull enough for her. I don't understand the "not comforting" comment. This wasn't a comfort food challenge; it's an Italian food challenge.

There is nothing comforting about this salad, too far out in space! I don't think you will find any takers! Helen in Indiana
