What an amazing dish. A little spicy but wonderful flavors in the chicken and tomato onion sauce. One of the Reviewers stated to make the dish the day before you want to enjoy. So true.......... It is so good on the second day. I served the chicken dish with rice and served some of the sauce on the side for my guests to add more yummy goodness. Next time I will reduce the pepper flakes as it was a bit too spicy for me, but just great for my family and friends. thanks Alex for one great chicken dish.

I tend to cut a lot of corners when I cook because I live on an island and finding fresh ginger & ect. is hard, but if a recipe can stand up to my cuts (I used a lot of ground spices and frozen veges and still be delicious... well, it really says something. We all loved the recipe, used with rice (cooked with garlic and chicken bouillon. The chicken was super moist and took on the delightful flavor. And it was easy!

I watched the show and thought..cinnamon & tomatoes...maybe/maybe not, so I decided to try this recipe for my family this evening and it was soooo favorful and aromatic. The spices danced all over my mouth, I could taste everything! I made brown rice in chicken stock, 1 tablespoon of curry powder and sea salt with this dish and took it to another level. I am very happy and will try more of Alex's recipes.

My family loves this recipe minus the cabbage. We pour it over rice that has been prepared in chicken broth. Whenever my wife and children see chicken legs and thighs thawing in the sink, they know what I'm cooking for dinner. The best thing! You only dirty ONE pan!

Really 4 and a half stars. This made a very good meal. The chicken (I used bone-in thighs only was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. The tomato and onion relish would be delicious on any number of foods. I gave the whole tomatoes a few slices while they were still in the can, to help them cook down easily. My mistake - entirely my own fault - was that I reduced the chile flakes because I thought my family would think the dish was too spicy. I love spicy food, so next time I will use the full amount of chile, because it seemed like it was missing in my version against the richness of the tomato and onion. Nonetheless, this was a delicious meal. I served it over rice, and I will make it again.

Best to prepare this dish one day ahead and serve the following day. In my opinion the flavor was so much better the next day. Perhaps the difference for me was the
spices I used, as I did not purchase my spices from the recommended spice store.

I also prepared the cabbage dish. It accompanied the chicken very well. My only complaint would be that I didn't like all the seeds (cumin, caraway, etc.. The flavor was good though...it was the texture from the plethora of seeds that I did not care for.

I did not have time to prepare the naan, but do have a suggestion for a replacement for it. Trader Joes carries a naan bread in their frozen section. It comes in garlic or plain. Be careful to only buy the naan from their freezer section only. They have one in the bakery section...I don't recommend it.

My husband loved this recipe. I did too. It was way too spicy for my 10 year old daughter however. I followed the recipe exactly using 2 tsp of chili flakes. I use Penzey's spices that are quite strong. I should have cut the flakes back to 1 tsp so everyone would have been happy. I made rice to go with the dish, and it was a great complement. I would definitely make this recipe again. Thanks, Alex!
