I brought this to a cocktail party last night and it was wonderful!!!! (I did the last few assembly steps when I got there. I used thick-cut, sweet applewood bacon. The flavors blend together soooooo well, and even just telling people the name was a treat. I will definitely be making this again in the upcoming holiday season. Give yourself a good hour to make them and enjoy!

Oh heck yes. This recipes is awesome. Made it at my mother's house and didn't realize she didn't have any bourbon until the last minute, so we had to omit. It was great without it, but I can't wait to try it again as written. I also ended up doubling the amount of bacon in the filling, just to suit our bacon-obsessed tastes.

Challenge: Make this food for yourself and pay attention to the sensation and tastes in your mouth. The U S Supreme Court will probably have to decide if continued making and eating of these little tarts is legal!!! Mad several times, including a large New Years party. None left.

I made these for a party yesterday and everyone loved them! I changed the recipe a little though. Instead of making the puff pastry, I cheated and bought those Filo mini cups (they make Filo dough in mini cups that are pre-made.. When i cooked the apples, they seemed to have alot of liquid in the pan i took the apples out, added some extra sugar and reduced the sauce and then retossed the apples. It added an additional coating on it which was tasty. Also, Instead of the whipped cream, i topped it off with a little Creme Fraiche. Everyone raved about them.

Oh my! I have made this twice. The flavor and tartness combination is amazing. For the candied bacon, I dipped it in maple syrup and sprinkled them with sugar in the raw and baked as directed. Wow! This dish is flawless. Thanks Brian.

It's hard to find, but if you look in the wide red band at the bottom of the Food Network screens, on the far right, near the very bottom, you'll see the words "Contact Us". Click on it, and it takes you to a field where you can ask a question of or make a comment to the network. If you want to support a host or program, the folks at the network are much likelier to actually see it that way. Hope this helps.
