Your crab appetizer was great. Your show is great. Best food network host since Alton Brown.

I used ciabatta rather than bagutte (I forgot to brush the slices with oil, a small amount of onion (rinsed and with canned flaked crab and it still came out yummy! Try to use a good quality Hass advocado - just ripe. Would work equally well without the crab too. I made it just for my husband and me, but I would not hesitate serving this to guests at a party.

Made this and followed the directions carefully, it was very bland and too oily. Nice idea but does I do not think the flavors too noticable except the shallot which stays with you, not good! Not worth the effort.

We made this for Mother's Day. To lighten up the bread servings, we also served this with endive spears. It was easy to make, looked great and was VERY EASY to eat!! Will make this again & again.
    Thanks Brian!

I made this without the crabmeat because I keep Kosher......not sure what it tastes like with the crabmeat, but without it , it was phenominal. I made 20 of them for 3 people and we ate all of them within minutes!! thank you Brian for a great appetizer idea that actually tastes great. Sherri

I saw Brian make it on TV today and thought it looked very simple. I went to the grocery store and got the ingredient to try and it was Fantastic!
