Yes, these are crazy good and I also just like to make the dip and use it with tortilla chips. (on a personal note I love Brian's enthusiasm and recipes, but I wish his style didn't remind me so much of Alton Browns.

I didn't bother with the sopaipilla part - I just made the topping and used it as a dip with tortilla chips. I was great, very easy; I'd definitely make it again!!

I HAD A GET TO GATHER AND MADE THESE SOPIPILLAS OH MY THEY ARE SO GOOD, IT WAS A HIT ,I GOT LOTS OF COMPLIMENTS AND SOME EVEN ASK ME FOR THE RECIPE.THESE GOES INTO ONE OF MY FAVORITE RECIPE COLLECTION.
