I had a really sweet watermelon so I thought I would try the recipe. I reduced the salt to 1 1/2 teaspoons instead of 3 TABLESPOONS and it was still way too salty. Overall, yuck! No one at my party liked it either!

Beautiful combination of flavors. The only thing I changed was the addition of ICE!! For what is a margarita without ice?

YUM! I thought about these for a week before I actually made them, and they lived up to my every expectation. MAYBE I'd add a bit more sugar to sweeten up the watermelon next time, but that could just be my sweet tooth talking (or the watermelon I used.
Made a virgin batch for the kids and that also turned out delicious.
You may end up with some left over puree from the watermelon that doesn't go through your strainer. I did, and I ended up using it as a layer in some watermelon-lemonade popsicles. Just a thought!

Not a fan of tequila, so I made them with vodka instead. Couldn't make them fast enough for my guest, they loved them. Very refreshing and addicting. I thank Brian for this inspiration...................(PS. still use the Triple Sec in the tini.

I love margaritas, but I was in the mood for something different. I had some ripe watermelon and thought, why not?!? I'll be making these on a regular basis now! Yummy!

I didn't think this was very tasty. Not much flavor. I'm going to try again with a sweeter watermelon.

i made the watermelon margaritas last night...and they were AWESOME!!

had to triple the batch for the amount of people we had, but WELL WORTH IT!!!
and for the people that didn't want salt on the rim, i mixed turbinado sugar & chili powder and it was fabulous!!!

next time we're going to skip the straining part...should be tasty!

We made everything on the Yamaguchi Mexican menu--all yummy, but a lot of comments about how good the watermelon margaritas were--we made a big pitcher, virgin, and added 2 cans of diet lemon/lime soda. Watermelon is my least favorite fruit but this makes me a fan--everyone from kiddies to grandma lapped it up, chili-salt rim and all!
