This was surprisingly good !! The combo of the hot dog with the mac and cheese / hot sauce was a winner. I made the mistake of thinking that it wasn't going to be enough mac and cheese so I doubled the recipe. That wasn't necessary stick with the recipe it makes more than you think !!

Amazing mac-n-cheese recipe on its own, but stuffed in a dog? Crazy-good!

This recipe certainly elevates the ordinary hot dog to new heights. My family loved it. My only problem was that one serving was way too much for me! This dish is very filling and bound to be a repeat at my house.

after watching my husband and I had to try this. We do Friday night dinners every week and are always looking for something different. I have to say the leeks really made this and bacon of course. I would tell anyone to try this, it was awesome!!

after seeing this win the throwdown I just had to try it even if I had to recreate the recipe by memory. Our local Trader Joe's has an artisan bread, pane rustica, that worked beautifully for the buns. I thought it might be too bread-y but the dog and cheesiness melted into it perfectly. We marveled over how easy it was to eat without making a huge mess. And yes, it was every bit as delicious as it looked in the show!

I chose to make this gourmet pasta recipe as a stand-alone dish to accompany barbecued ribs and cole slaw. Everyone couldn't get enough and wanted the recipe to take home.

Can't wait to put this on a hot dog now!
Many thanks to Nick Suarez from Rene` in Medford OR
