This recipe is so easy. I had some buttermilk left over and decided to make scones. They turned out soo good - crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I added a little more sugar so they were a bit sweeter. I will use this recipe again and add fruit.

I found these to be dense and buttery. While they were tasty, they didn't really look like scones should and was disappointed in how little they rose in the oven.

At my job, besides a pharmacy technician, I am also "resident baker"...i bake for my co-workers all the time. I took this scone recipe and added mini cinnamon chips instead of currants and then brush them with the cream and sprinkle sugar on them then bake them. Seems to put a whole new spin on the scone! One of my favorites and my co workers!! Thanks for all your good recipes, I always come here to find something new and delicious!

My daughter (maid-of-honor planned a tea for my other daughter's wedding shower. She asked me to make 90 scones for this little shin-dig. Food Network to the rescue! I tried several recipes, including my favorite chef, Ina (Barefoot Contessa, Tyler Florence, etc. To no avail, they just didn't have the texture and taste I was looking for. The party was a week away.

I came across this recipe and figured this would be the last one I'd tried before calling the bakery. Oh my gosh, they tasted just right!!! Although I ended up adding more dried fruit to the recipe these were the most delicious scone I've ever tasted! They were tender in the inside and had a wonderful crust on the outside along with a heavenly taste. Just enough sweetness and the buttermilk gave them just the slightest hint of tang which went lovely with the fruit.

You have to try this recipe, I will never have to buy scones again. Thanks M.S. Milliken and S. Feniger, you saved me!

I loved these! I left out the white sugar and replaced it with 1/2 cup maple syrup and only used a 1/2 cup of buttermilk. Tender and delicious!

Found this recipe while lookign for something to do with left over buttermilk! WOW...easy and super great. Tastes like you got them from the coffee shop. I add fresh mangoes to 1/2 the batch ( i live in Florida and made the other half traditional. Used the buttermilk to brush on the tops and sprinkled them with suger, which gave them a nice crunch! New go to recipe...I may find that I always have buttermilk in the house!!!

Easy and delicious. I chose this recipe because I had almost everything on hand (minus the cream and it turned out quite tasty. When I divided the dough in half, I folded in a handful of slivered almonds and dried cranberries into one half and left the other half plain. I used an egg wash on top (instead of cream and sprinkled with sugar. I checked these at 13 minutes since my oven tends to cook fast and the were done. Overall, a simple and quick scone recipe which I'm sure to use again and again.
