I have made this pie to share many times for many people and have been told my pie is better than the local bakery's sweet potato pie. I am a retired baker who worked at a restaurant for 18 years and love to make pies for people who enjoy desserts. Thanks for sharing this recipe, and I always give credit where credit is due, to the Food Nework. Thanks again, wonderful.

My husband and I absolutely loved this pie!!!!! I made two of them for Thanksgiving using five sweet potatoes. I did change the recipe a bit from reading other reviewers comments. First I baked the sweet potatoes for an hour and fifteen minutes at 375 degrees. After peeling them I mashed them with a fork and creamed them in a food processor, which made them really smooth and took out all of the lumps. I used 1/4 teaspoon of allspice, nutmeg, and ginger. I used 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon. Instead of the evaporated milk I used 1/2 cup of condensed milk, 1/2 cup of white sugar, 3/4 cups of brown sugar, and 2 and a half teaspoons of vanilla. For the whipped topping I only changed the 1/4 cup of confectioners sugar to 1/8 of a cup. I also put the pies in a graham cracker crust. But you can taste as you go to make sure its sweet enough to your liking.

This pie was delicious! I tried this recipe for Thanksgiving 2012; I made 4 sweet pototo pies and I followed the recipe to the T, but because I was making a little more I added a little more sugar and butter, but overall this was the best sweet potato pie I have ever made. This is definitely a recipe to keep. Thumbs up!!!

My goal this season was to master sweet potato pie. I checked out a couple of other sweet potato pie recipes on the food network. This one looked the easiest and tastiest. I found it to be extremely easy to make and was very pleased with the final product!!! My family liked it as well.

This was my first time making sweet potato pie!! I made two for my boyfriends potluck at work and they came out absolutely amazing, everyone loved them! I made two more one for the house and one for my best friend, and will definitely be making more for thanksgiving! I did read the previous reviews and tweaked the recipe a little. I used the sweetened condensed milk vs. the evaporated milk. I also boiled my sweet potatoes to save time as well as to make sure they did get soft enough to mash, previous reviews said that the time listed was not enough for the sweet potatoes to be soft enough. I added more of each of the spice and regular sugar as well. The pie was full of flavor, but did not drown out the taste of the sweet potato's. This is a wonderful recipe and all of the reviews helped me in my decisions on what to tweak. Total thumbs up from me :

Excellent recipe, just the way i remember my mother's sweet potato pie. My mother never measured, she always said put a little this and put a little that which never worked for me. For the first time I can say I make a smack your mama sweet potato pie, thanks to the Neely's.
