This was my first attempt ever at making a sweet potato pie.Recipe turned out great...the only concern I had was the potato's. The recipe calls for medium sized potato's and the four I used were slightly larger than medium. So I had to add 2/4 tsp of allspice, ginger and nutmeg. 2 1/2 teaspoons of Cinnamon and an additional 2 tbsp of butter and an additional 1/4 of sugar. But you'll have to taste as you go to insure the taste is right just for you. Again...overall, it turned out great!

A delicious and simple pie. I have made this pie countless times. I did however eliminate the whipped topping because I don't like whip cream. But for the people who are trying to cut down on the fat, you can just eliminate the butter and the pie will taste just perfectly fine. I found this out when I was craving a sweet potato pie and I had all the ingredients except butter. Since I didn't feel like going to the store I felt like this one ingredient (which is usually a staple in southern food for flavor...I should know I'm from Atlanta, lolI can get away with not putting in the pie cause it already had so many pungent and good flavors and it tasted just delicious.

This pie is amazing and was gone in record time. The recipe for the maple whipped cream is a bit too sweet. Think I will cut the sugar and syrup amount in half next time.

this pie was fabulous! I usually use my mom's recipe, but thought I would try something new. I always boil my potatoes and I did use sweetened milk instead of evaporated. I added more granulated sugar and flavorings to the mixture, but this recipe was so MUCH better than any I have ever made. My daughter is taking one back to college with her! We LOVE this recipe!! Thanks so much!!
