I have never eaten any meat pie as delicious as this. I substituted potatoes for turnips and omitted the bacon and it still tasted fantastic. Next time I'll add a bit more liquid as my sauce got too thick at the end. I didn't bother making the bottom crust...just put the filling in a casserole with crust on top. Yum.

Takes time, but is easy to prepare - well worth it. It is delicious! Will be making it more and freezing for a quick dinner.

I made this for company and it was wonderful! Could not find the recipe. Searched everywhere - finally found this site (where I got it from originally! and can't wait to make it again. Tastes like a gourmet restaurant recipe.

This recipe was worth the time it took to cook it! The meat was tender, gravy so smooth and the crust so flaky and tasty, just like Grandma use to make.
