I used this recipe because I love stroganoff, but did not have a McCormick's package (just add water and sour cream in my pantry. I will never buy the seasoning packet again. This was even easier and consisted of items that I almost always have on hand. I didn't think it would have much flavor with the only ingredients in the sauce being sour cream, salt, pepper and wine. It had a ton of flavor but wasn't all full of sodium like the seasoning packets are. I recommend this recipe for the novice cook.

I followed this recipe to the letter(I used real butter & white wineI served this stroganoff with a dinner salad and soft, warm french bread. It took no time at all and was so easy to do. I served six adults and everyone had seconds and a couple even had thirds. At the end of dinner, my disabled adult son proclaimed "Mom you've out done your culinary little self again"! With every body else at the table chimming in! There and then I decided that I would be checking out Food Network every night! I also decided that I would be passing on my new found secret on to my family and friends! Thank you, Sue

This is one recipe that I will use for the rest of my life. It is a total hit with my family and never is refused even by my 5 year old son, and 3 year old niece. Five stars!

A very simple yet flavorful dish. We had never made Strogonoff from scratch, and this was the perfect recipe for families in our position. We found it better without the wine, but it was hearty and satisfying regardless. This is a recipe we will come back to, adding our own variations over time. Excellent. We highly recommend it.

This recipe was a winner all the way around! Great taste and easy to fix too(a necessity for the stay-at-home-mom. My four-year-old and 18-month-old even liked it! I have printed this one out for my own recipe book and will definitely fix it again.

This is my very favorite recipe for beef stroganoff. I've not used any others since finding it. I don't use rice or noodles as I'm low carbing but it's wonderful. If you're on a low fat program this is NOT the recipe for you though.
