This recipe is by FAR the best macaroni salad! We even had it at our wedding. So we now call it the wedding salad. There is never any left overs no matter how many people you have! We have this recipe laminated and kept in our "special" recipes book.

This salad is amazing... I agree, adjust the garlic salt downwards. This salad was a huge hit, everyone LOVED it!!! I made the salad and dressing ahead of time and let it set overnight separately, then mixed the morning of my dinner. This is my new "go to" salad :

Adjust the garlic salt downward! I also use shredded cheese (it's just easier, fresh horseradish, and no celery (don't like it...yuck!. I made the dressing the night before because of time restraints in the morning and then added it to the pasta mixture in the morning. For folks who mix everything at once, I seriously suggest letting the pasta ingredients mellow overnight before adding the dressing...it amps the flavor like you would not believe! This dish received RAVE reviews and I saw multiple food-gasms! I actually had folks fighting over taking home doggie bags!

This is the most flavorful macaroni salad that I have ever made. My grandma actually made it and brought it to a family event so I had to try it myself. With grandma's notes I changed the cheeses to smoked gouda and smoked cheddar and it was even better.

I've been asked to bring this salad to a friends BBQ every year. She loves macaroni salad, and says this is the best one she has ever had, and I have to agree.

I have made this salad many times for different picnics and parties. Everyone loves the flavors. I only use 1 tbsp of garlic with 1 tbsp of garlic salt. There is a little of a bite from the cayenne, but even the kids loved this salad.

Use your imagination on this. 2T + 2T garlic is probably too much so don't follow by the letter. What works for you will work. I just brought this to a party. It all went. Other salads...not so much.

This macaroni salad was amazing!!!!! I made this for a BBQ for Memorial Day and it was the absolute hit of the party. I will say that I used 1 T of the garlic salt and used a little less cayenne pepper. In my opinion it was salty although just fine. Wouldn't use 2 T of garlic salt and I would have liked it hotter. All in all, a fantastic recipe. Totally a go to!
