As I made this recipe for the first time, I had several questions/comments:

    1. How much shredded chicken do you need in cups. DIfferent size chickens yield different quantiies (for example a Costco rotssserie chicken vs. a supermarket one will yield about 50% more meat

    2. I agree that it needs more salt, instead of salt I use Better than Broth Chicken concnetrate and it made the filling more delicious than just plain salt.

    3. Should the potatoes be pre-cooked or at least blanched? And when should they be added to the filling? (Mine is in the oven now so I don't know if 20 minutes will be enough to cook them when they are put in raw.

I can't wait to taste it!

The lady's dish is good, but could use more salt, but I love their other recipes! For the sweet potato chicken pot pie recipe check this out.

I made this recipe and it is a fantastic base for chicken pot pie however, I would suggest adding a second round of salt and pepper after everything has been put into the saute pan and before transferring to a baking dish. I made the recipe as is and everyone at the table agreed that it needed salt. Once we all added salt, it tasted exactly as it should be. If more salt and pepper are added I would then give the recipe a 5 but, as is it is a 4.

I live in Ausitn and can't wait to try the actual casseroles. I did go to the website and it wasn't working. I hope it was just all the traffic to their site following the show. Those two were great and I hope I can order from them soon.

The chicken csserole is great but the chicks are outstanding. Watch out Bobby they may be the next big thing on the cooking channel. Did you notice how much Sandy looks like Lucy? Way to go Sandy!! Aunt Bettye.

Jane in MN, the sweet potatoes were in Bobby's crust, not in this recipe. Bobby referred to his crust as a biscuit crust so I used a recipe I have for sweet potato biscuits. There are several different recipes available via search function so I would recommend that for everyone looking for his recipe since we may not get it. This recipe is very good.

THe recipe is really wonderful and I managed to figure ou that the first reference to adding chicken to the pan should have been for th potatos---there is no instruction to add the potatoes, and this is the only opportunity to do that and get them cooked enough to go into the oven for the brief cooking time. I will make this dish agan for sure.
