I made this for memorial day and everyone loved it. My local wine shop was out of Prosecco so I used Asti which is already sweet. I cut the simple syrup to a 1/3. You should definately add the simple syrup in slowly and adjust to your taste.

This is one of my favorite episodes. So fun. The Champagne Sangria is heaven in a glass! Also, I've made it with seltzer instead of alcohol for my nephews, and everyone loved it.

I served this for my mom's birthday party and it was a huge hit! My mom is not a drinker at all and she had two glasses! I played it safe and added only one cup of the mint simple syrup and it was perfectly sweet. The Italian Prosecco was perfect for this! Thanks again, Giada!

but it was too sweet! I didn't read the comments before I made it and I was a little overwhelmed by the sweetness. Next time I am going to cut it in half or allow guests to make their own sangria at a little sangria bar with all the toppings and maybe a type of champagne and a bottle of presecco.

Made this on Mother's Day and everyone, even people who do not usually drink loved it! I cut the simple syrup to 1/3 as recommended by the other reviews. I also added peaches and thin slices of lemon and lime instead of the zest. When the Preseco was getting low I added a little tonic to stretch it and no one noticed. It look beautiful and tastes even better. My whole menu was from Giada's new cookbook! Easy and a hugh hit!
