I can't believe people on here are rating the recipe based on eating it at Friday's. of course it is going to be different and not be as good. It's Friday's, not a gourmet restaurant.
Now on to the recipe, I've made it once a week now and can't get enough. Everyone we make it for just loves it and I don't think it is too pricey to make. I guess it depends on where you go to buy you cheeses, but even then, when the cheese that I buy is enough to make at least 2 batches,so it's not that bad.
Don't judge until you've tried it. There is a lot of prep work involved, but it is TOTALLY worth it! The only modification I've made is to add more bacon, but that's because I love bacon :
TRY THIS RECIPE!!!!!

I was worried the blue cheese would be to strong for my kids but "truth be told" I made it for me.. Everyone including my Kids loved it. They especially loved the "BACON" in it. It came out perfect. Mac-N-Cheese is by far one of my favorite comfort foods and Rick's Recipe is The Best thus far..I wouldn't expect anything less from Rick Massa, He is truly a professional. Watch this episode. He is an awesome human being.

This is the most amazing Mac and cheese! I've made it
Several times and everyone says its the best they've ever had. It is about $50 to make but totally worth it. The dish goes a long way since its so rich. My husband helps me when I make it because it's a little overwhelming. Especially if it's your first time.

Sooo good! I highly recommend this dish. It is expensive to make (about $50-60 if you don't have the ingredients on hand. I would suggest measuring everything out beforehand, especially if you're preparing solo. The dish is extemely rich, but a guaranteed crowd pleaser. I will definitely be making for my next dinner party or work get together! Enjoy! :

Oh my Gosh, this is the best recipe. I sometimes changed some of the cheeses, mostly the blue cheese but my grandkids love it and always ask me to make it. Not cheap to make but oh so good.

Excellent! I have made this meal on many occations and everyone who tries it, loves it! Even our friends 6 year old son (the pickiest eatier I have ever seenloves it!
I am not a blue cheese fan, but I find it adds a nice "umph" to the dish, I do not find it over powering at all.
They only con to this dish is shredding all that cheese :

This is the most amazing grown-up mac n cheese ever. I've made it numerous times (always a double recipe, most recently for a family gathering. That, Old Bay wings, and a fresh tossed salad and everyone was happy. I follow the recipe exactly with one exception--I double the bacon bits (but not the grease. Use good quality center-cut bacon for more meaty taste. Keep in oven a little longer to get good browning on the top.

This macaroni is amazing!!! I've made this dish over 10 times and all times it has been a hit. However, I'm not a fan of blue cheese, so I substitute the blue cheese for something like mozzarella. This still leaves all of the cheesy integrity of the dish without the overpowering flavor of the blue cheese.
Also, I use two boxes of pasta when making this recipe because : 1 one box leaves a lot of extra sauce 2 by using more pasta, you get more macaroni, which makes the cost of the cheese even out with the amount you get 3 finally, you can freeze the leftover macaroni and thaw it whenever you are ready to enjoy more Mac and cheese without all of the hassle of cooking
GREAT RECIPE! MUST TRY!!

This would be a GREAT recipe if you left out the blue cheese. The 1/2 cup simply overpowers the dish! I may try it again and leave out the blue cheese.
