The classic chocolate cookie dough recipe is found under 50 HOLIDAY COOKIES: CHOCOLATE COOKIE FAMILY, it is recipe 21. Classic Chocolate Cookies. Not easy to find.

These are a new favorite in our house. Gooey, very very chocolaty and rich. Excellent texture, easy to make. Do not omit the cherries. They are important to the taste. You do need to chill for 30 minutes the tablespoons of dough. I put them on cutting sheets, chilled and then transferred the blobs to a baking sheet. They don't spread much. I will absolutely make these again.
