but i was a little disappointed that the recipe said to use frozen waffles. really, waffles aren't a huge hassle, so even a simple recipe to offset the heat of the chicken would've been nice. however, the use of Wondra was brilliant. it gave the crust on the chicken a really nice texture. i used asian chili sauce instead of hot sauce && was very please. i'll definitely make this chicken again.

Being from the frozen north, I wasn't sure what to make of this unlikely combination of components and flavors. My husband said, "You're making WHAT? ....Well, OK." It is truly delicious and fun. The combination of sweet, spicy and salty is sooooo good. Yes, it is fried but that's fine once in a while and this meal is well worth the extra workout you will need afterward!

I didn't know what to expect when I tried this recipe. My husband wanted to try it to see what all the fuss was about. The combination is really good. I used a bit more maple syrup on my waffles to balance out - even up the sweet and salty. I'd defnititely do this again, but maybe not so soon since you do have to fry the chicken. : It's really good!!!
