This is a lovely piquant, fresh and summery dish. Great for outdoor parties. Best of all it was extremely easy to put together. Follow Alex's instructions about salting the water. It really does make a difference. I had some lovely pencil thin asparagus. I garnished the final plate with some lovely organic cherry tomatoes from my local farmer's market. They added a little sweetness and color. I made this for a neighborhood association picnic hoping I would have some leftover to bring home. But it was gone in 5 minutes!

This recipe gets rave reviews from me and my foodie roommate. I used rice wine vinegar and dijon mustard with seeds in it, since that was what I had on hand. I didn't peel the asparagus. Excellent for a quick side-dish or appetizer. The dressing would also be good on salad or a sauce for chicken or fish.

Made for the first time. A little labor intensive with all the peeling but well worth it. I got rave reviews!

Great use for fresh asparagus straight from the garden. Remember to taste & adjust seasonings because the only salt is in the cold water bath.

really simple and tasty, definitely worth trying! I felt it needed extra salt and some spice but overall was a hit!

Amazing dish! I'm typically not a fan of asparagus, but the icewater bath keeps it nice and crisp and the vinaigrette is over the top. Am making it for the 3rd time tonight!
