Awesome Awesome.. I loved this recipe. The flavors blended really well together and it was just the right amount of sweetness. However, I did add a packet of splenda to the ricotta. My boyfriend really loved it too and I will definately be making it again!

I can't believe some said this wasn't sweet enough! It was almost too sweet for me! The quality of the strawberries probably does make a difference. (They are in season right now. I used homemade whole wheat bread too.

I was concerned that it would be soggy inside, so I did leave it on longer than 3-4 minutes per side. You could always cook the French toast pieces individually and assemble the sandwiches at the end.

Some reviewers used bananas instead of strawberries. I can't imagine that it would be as good! It would be a different recipe altogether! (And we regularly have bananas on waffles.

The whole family LOVED this, and we'll be making it again!

This recipe looked like more work than it was. Tip: I put the chocolate chips on the cheese before the strawberries so they wouldn't fall out as easily. Typically I like crisp French toast, and because of soaking the sandwiches in the egg mixture, they were rather soggy. That was probably also due to the cheese. Next time I will quickly dip them into the egg mixture, rather than soak. Or maybe I'll eliminate it altogether and scatter chocolate chips on my cooking French toast, top with strawberries (and other fruits, and sprinkle with powdered sugar....

We thought the taste was perfect! I used Hershey bars since they are my husbands favorite. There were a couple of things I would change next time. Would not soak the bread as instructed but would probably try brushing on. Second I would cut back on the cheese because I thought they were too messy. I served with banana slices on the side and next time would also add blueberries.

I made this very quickly this morning which was a great thing because I felt like I had slaved over it when I tasted it. I added a bit of sugar and cinnamon to the batter (typically how I prepare my own.... the chocolate, strawberries, and ricotta were a very good combination. I will definitely be adding this to my collection!

I did not have strawberries on hand so I used bananas instead along w/ mini semi sweet chips. I thought the recipe was good but lacked sweetness. I may try to add some cinnamon and sugar next time

Very good ideas-I have made a similar dish myself. However, you need to pay attention to the quality of the ingredients. I would also suggest that semisweet chocolate, especially for most people, is more enjoyable, and minichips spread more easily. Also when sprinkling powdered sugar on anything, it is helpful to use a fine strainer or something similar. You get a better looking result, and again, more sugar in each bite.

My kids adored this recipe and it was easy enough to fix before school.

The structure of this recipe is good and seemed to be sweet enough on paper. As is, however, the only sweetness comes from the chocolate chips which doesn't cut it. There is no sugar in the batter or the ricotta filling. If you have great strawberries, maybe that would be enough. I found myself actually adding some real maple syrup on top to help out (sounds gross but okay!. Maybe adding Splenda to the batter and ricotta to keep it low cal might help out.
