These are awesome!!! They're dense; they're soooo rich. I've made them several times now, and I crave them constantly. And they're simple. mmmmmmmm In fact, I'm making them tonight!

First I will say they were tasty, not fab. A dense cupcake w/ a yummy icing. Just not over the top. Course my husband (give him choc that's all it takes loved them. I did use reg chips cause all I had and it worked. I must say though I love that Giada brings us EASY yummy options. I love to cook and consider myself a great cook but I don't always have time to go all out...these kind of options I love. I trust Giada cause she is a great cook and that takes a load off me. She has given me other over the top EASY out of the pantry recipes that I make often.

I made this recipe today and fell in love! I plan on making these cupcakes for my son's first birthday. I used regular sized semi-sweet chocolate chips but I believe the mini chocolate chips would work better though. I did not use the walnuts in the recipe....the homemade icing recipe is amazing! I thought of maybe adding some strawberry flavoring to it next time to make it seem like a chocolate covered strawberry cupcake!

These are dense rich cupcakes and are extremly quick and easy to make. The mascarpone cheese gives the frosting a nice sweet taste...different from just a regular cream cheese frosting.

I made these for a picnic last year and everyone raved about them!! Instead of her mascarpone cheese frosting, I used a can of cream cheese frosting and it turned out great. Next time I will try Giada's homemade frosting though!

I am writing this review to people who haven't made this yet. Do the recipe as she has it. I don't think the little bit of difference in mix size matters. Mine was Betty Crocker and 21. something oz. THIS IS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE CAKE, PEOPLE!!! Hence the reason she used a friggin' brownie mix!! If you don't want the top to brown anymore than put some foil ontop. Giada went to THE best cooking school in the world! The brownies were absolutely great! I am going to try the frosting next time when I have all of the ingredients, but I used some tub cream cheese frosting I already had in the pantry. I'm just curious how some people can expect something from her. She doesn't owe any of us anything. I just happy that she shares her brilliance with us at all. This is great to make with kids as well!

It was awesome! I made this recipe for my friends and they absolutely enjoyed them, although I decided to add 1 cup of walnuts and 1/4 of chocolate chips because i don't love chocolate chips but they turned out great and very crunchy and chocolaty! Love them! ; p.s.add extra walnuts and chocolate chips on top they turn out delicious! :D
