Super easy to make and my husband, who hates cake, loved it for his birthday! I made it in a round pan and then decorated the top of the cake with cherries and chopped dark chocolate chunks. It looked and tasted fancy with minimal effort.

Yum!! So easy and delicious! I made this as a 2-layer cake for Easter frosted with an easy ganache instead of the frosting it called for, with a ring of stemless maraschino cherries around the top. To make the ganache I just heated a cup of evaporated milk to boiling, poured it over 12 oz semi sweet chocolate chips in a bowl, whisked until smooth, then added 1 t. almond extract.

I made this cake one night when we were having dinner guests and I needed a quick and easy dessert. The cake is flavorful and moist and the glaze is a perfect complement. I served it with sweetened whipped cream that I flavored with the juice of maraschino cherries and it was a huge hit. It was delicious and really did remind me of a chocolate covered cherry!

One of my new favorite "standby" cakes. So easy to whip up in under 10 minutes. Simple ingredients. I garnished the top with maraschino cherries cut in half. They frosting is definitely the "cherry on top." So fudgy. You've got to try this simple, yet delicious cake!

I've made this recipe at least 10 times now and whether it's as cupcakes or a layered cake, it always turns out perfect. My family loves it and so do my customers. It's so moist and full of flavor! Something I've done is made a bittersweet chocolate frosting and added chopped up cherry cordials into the frosting. (Since the frosting recipe it comes with doesn't hold up for layered cakes or cupcakes It's delicious!

The cake came out moist and extremely tastey! It got past around among friends and family, and everyone couldn't stop eating it. Very simple to make.
