Made these for mother's day and my mom said it was the best cupcake she's ever had. Made 30 cupcakes for me. The cupcakes are amazingly moist, the frosting is wonderful, the ganache sets to a wonderful consistency. Was nervous because it was the runniest cake batter I've seen, but it bakes just like any other cupcake. It is VERY rich and chocolaty, a little too much for me, so I've started using Andes mint chips for the ganache instead of milk chocolate to lighten it up. Best cupcake recipe I've used so far.

I honestly say I have never had such an amazing cupcake! the ganache was very runny at fist, so when i filled the cupcakes i was worried, but after I frosted them and let them set the ganache turned more into a ganache : They do make more then 24, more like 30, but defiantly a recipe that I will make over and over!!!!!

I have been baking for over 30 years. Never, never have I made something this amazing! Batter did look watery but turned out amazing! For the filling I found I only had semi-sweet chips. Didn't want it to be too dark so I used 1 cup semi sweet choc chips and 1 cup Reeses Peanut Butter Chips. Oooh it was fantastic! I can definitely see why this recipe won Cupcake Wars! Bravo to Michelle Spell!

I am not a baker in any sense of the word, however I made these cupcakes for a babyshower and they turned out AMAZING. The cupcakes were so moist and tender even until the next day. My husband is not a man who likes chocolate, however he ate the most!!!! I Will make these again. The recipe was delicious, and simple :

This is my FAVORITE cupcake recipe!! They always turn out perfect & everyone loves them : The batter is suppose to be runny by the way, because of the hot coffee.. I also use Kahlua instead of chocolate liqueur in the ganache & its amazing!

For some reason, the batter was very watery, maybe not enough flour. I have read the other reviews and neither one mentioned anything about the batter, so maybe I did something incorrectly, but I doubt it. I did as instructed and filled the cupcake liner 3/4 full but the batter went all over and it was like one big cake. Needless to say, I did not complete the cupcake, i.e. filling or frosting. I will attempt this one more time and see what happens.
