This recipe I Loved it was very easy to make and went over so well with my quest. This is one of my favorites and will make again..

I made this tonight after watching Clair's show for the first time. It looked interesting. I know that fennel can be very bitter.

The chicken had an interesting flavor but not one that I care for. Even caramelizing the fennel did not make it less bitter, although you would think that it would. Add in the dark beer and the dish became more bitter. I won't be making this again.

Clair: Where do I begin:1 The taste was just so-so. Could have been exceeded with chicken and Stove Top stuffing or Rice a roni. 2 Totally greasy. Leftovers in refrigerator congealed into one greaseball. 3 Fennel is overly expensive - $4 per bulb in Mar 2011. I won't be repeating this one. I have tried and liked other dishes by Clair, but this one was simply not up to par.

I made this recipe this evening and the family just loved it. I used Hacker-Pschorr beer just because that is what we had on hand. Otherwise, I followed this recipe exact. It was so delicious and easy. I served mashed potatoes and collard greens with it. I will definitely be making this one again. It's a keeper.

I tried to select 5 stars on this, but didn't allow me to! This recipe was to die for. My whole family gobbled it up. Including my 5-year old daughter. Great job!

We loved this recipe. I read the reviews and added an onion. This is a keeper and easy to do. The fennel was great.

This is my favorite chicken recipe. My incredibly picky husband even loves it. Since it's just me & him, I only use two chicken breasts - bone in/skin on. I make the sauce as the recipe calls for though - which is really great because we're huge fans of the sauce, and we get to eat more of it! Sometimes I'll add a pat of butter to the fennel as it's browning, and a bit of chopped garlic as well. I've tried a few beers, and my favorite (HANDS DOWN is Amber Bock. Thanks Claire!!!

Excellent recipe. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. I did not make any changes to the recipe and it was delicious!

This is INCREDIBLE!!! I made it with the twice baked rosemary and blue potatoes that were also made in this episode. This is one of the best meals I have ever eaten! My husband raved about it! Definitely try these two recipes together.
